Episode 129: Uncomplicated Good Works

Takes place 25 November 2012 - 25 December 2012.

After the realisations of the previous episode, Paul sets out to do some simple good in the galaxy. Some examples include aiding Earth 666 and giving movie suggestions to Overgirl's Earth.

He later accompanies Superman as the latter goes about being a hero to see if he can be a "nicer" hero himself. Afterwards, he brings Superman with him when going out to finish off the sept of the Spider Guild that he previously fought.

In the Renegade timeline, the Renegade learns that Arion has been spotted in Poseidonis, but elects to use a wait and see approach, just in case Aquaman actually has a plan to handle this.

  • Bullying a Dragon: Director Armstrong seriously believes that she can make the Renegade obey her commands, regardless of the fact that both the President of the US and her immediate superior would be fine with the Renegade replacing her, as he was their first pick for her job anyway.
  • Culture Clash: A large part of the episode goes over the culture clash between the Amazons of Themyscira and people in the modern world.
  • Dumbass No More: Downplayed. Swamp Thing wasn't so much unintelligent as he was ignorant and prone to short term thinking. Thanks to some help from Pamela Isley, he is able to create a magic bio-computer that helps him process thoughts much more efficiently.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Not all Amazons are aware of the fact that Paul helped some Amazons sire children with one another and assumed he sired them the normal way.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Paul is rather polite, on the whole, when telling the Spider Guild leaders that they can either join the Queen and stop eating people, or he'll kill them and call it a good deed.
  • Oh, Crap!: Implied to be Lex's reaction to Paul calling him and telling him that Superman might be more pragmatic moving forward thanks to a conversation with the latter, as the former pauses before hanging up on Paul.
  • Take That!: Paul talks with "The Bat" from Earth-10 about which movies from Earth-16 would be acceptable to their censors. Some, like Sky High (2005), would be approved, for encouraging centralisation and the idea of superpowers being hereditary. Others, like The Incredibles, would be rejected for making a negro character too prominent. However, The Bat predicts that The Phantom Menace will be turned down "Not because the censors would block it, it just isn't very good."
  • Took a Level in Badass: Xalitan Xor has gotten better at using the orange light, enough for him to be recalled to the front line in order to help spread what he's learned to the rest of the corps. Paul even notices that Xor has begun to access the Honden of Avarice, the source of many of Paul's exotic abilities, although Xor has yet to achieve Enlightenment.
