Neal adopts a disguise and infiltrates a group of men involved in scams, aiming to apprehend the mastermind behind their illicit activities.
Tropes:
- Almost Out of Oxygen: The mini-breather provides only five minutes of oxygen, unfortunately coinciding with the response time of the backup agents.
- Conveniently Timed Attack from Behind: With Neal having passed out from lack of oxygen, Peter takes the decision to pull the switch in the vault. As he does so, Avery stands outside, armed with a gun, and Peter prepares for a potential shootout. Fortunately, just in the nick of time, Jones arrives from behind with the backup team and disarms Avery.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Both Neal and Peter end up being trapped in the vault, and they have only one mini-breather. Peter wants them to share it but Neal refuses and selflessly gives it to Peter, risking suffocating himself.
- The Infiltration: Neal is sent to infiltrate the boiler room to find out who is behind the scam.
- Internal Reveal: Peter finally tells Neal that he talked to Kate.
- Locked in a Freezer: Peter and Neal end up locked in an air-tight vault. They could get out by pressing a button, but then Avery would shoot them.
- Nazi Gold: The music box that Kate is after was originally looted from Catherine the Great’s Amber Room by the Nazis.

Landry: Wait, you didn’t answer my question. - One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Neal and Peter try to decipher Reed and Avery’s relationship and whether they would betray each other. Because Neal has just found the photo of Peter wearing the ring, he also subtly phrased his questions in a way to address Peter himself.Neal: Let’s just say I'm Reed, you're Avery. You're trying to screw me. Why?
Peter: Money.
Neal: It's that simple?
Peter: Isn't it always?
Neal: So you manipulate your friends and the people around you?
Peter: Yeah. All to get rid of you.
Neal: I never saw it coming. - Wham Shot: Neal finds a photo in Peter’s house that shows him wearing the same ring as the man in the photo with Kate.
- Wrong Assumption: Neal finds a photo of Peter wearing the same ring as the man in the photo with Kate, leading him to believe that Peter has her. However, when Neal confronts Peter with this accusation, Peter clarifies that the ring is a standard ten-year FBI pin that many agents have had made into a ring.
- You Didn't Ask: A variant. Everyone has assumed that Neal is in possession of the music box and he has never corrected them.
