Rex Dies
While preparing for a play, Tori accidentally sucks Rex into a giant fan, leaving him brutally injured which upsets Robbie, and considers if it's time for the two to move on. She engages in a Zany Scheme where at the hospital, a doctor can pronounce Rex dead.
At the hospital, Cat gets mistaken for a mental patient when she explains that she's here to see a puppet patient. Several doctors put her in a room with protective restraints and try to examine her using a video camera.
Tropes:
- Artistic License – Medicine: Let's just say that if there is someone in regular clothes explaining that a puppet is getting treated that you can't just take them to a room, cover their hands with soft pads, and leave them to their own devices. Doubly so if the person is a minor.
- Gonk: The doctor's son, Lendle.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Tori after Rex is mangled by the jet fan.
- One Last Song: Robbie asks Tori to help him sing Rex's favorite song "Forever Baby" before Rex finally "passes on".
- Sadistic Choice: Do you let Robbie lose Rex, his Companion Cube, knowing it's your fault that Rex died and cause him to grieve; or do you help revive him to enable the fantasy? Tori eventually chooses the latter out of guilt about what she did to Rex.
- Status Quo Is God: Tori "revives" Rex, eliminating any chance of Robbie moving on, and becoming more "normal".
