Tropes

  • Accidental Nightmare Fuel: An in-Universe example: Figgy puts together that Speckle was pretending to be Tuca back in "The Pain Garden" and comes to the conclusion that Speckle is a genius impersonator trying to take advantage of him.
  • "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: The titular mole is a doctor that specializes in exploiting his small size to enter patients and repair them from the inside. When he gets lost inside Tuca, Bertie shrinks down and enters Tuca's body to help him fix a growth from an impending rupture in her uterus. Interestingly, it plays out more like a Journey to the Center of the Mind plot considering that Tuca's uterus pretty much also functions as her Happy Place full of homages to her friendship with Bertie.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: The health inspector chicken asks Speckle (pretending to be Dr. Mole) to remove a growth from her back. The next time we cut back, she is nowhere to be seen, the entire room and everything in it is smeared with blood, and Figgy is in a Troubled Fetal Position terrified of what Speckle might do to him and his loved ones.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Tuca vows to remind Bertie every single day of her life that she (Tuca) gave birth to her.
  • Shameful Shrinking: Bertie exploits her mother's ability to effortlessly make her feel small to shrink her enough to enter Tuca and help the Mole complete his surgery on her body.
  • Super Cell Reception: Even within Tuca's uterus, Bertie is still able to get a phone call from Winter Garcia, something that's humorously lampshaded.
    Bertie: I get service here?
    Tuca-Horse: It's pronounced "cer-vix".
