It's homecoming day at Trollzopolis High, and while Ruby's worried about Coral being named Homecoming Queen, Topaz is afraid to connect with her Ancient, Zirconia. Amethyst's grandma warns her that if she doesn't make a connection with her soon she may never recover, but Topaz is resistant. As the football game ends Simon suddenly crashes the party with his fire-breathing dragon, and when Amethyst's grandma tries to stop him he captures her to prevent the girls from attacking him with magic.
The dire straits embolden Topaz to reach out to Zirconia, and she tells her that the dragon is afraid of cats like the school mascot, Trollipuff. Topaz casts a spell to make him super-sized, scaring the dragon off and saving Amethyst's grandma and the other girls. She then learns that she and Zirconia have more in common than they thought—they both love fashion! Coral is named homecoming queen, but the girls have saved the day and made a new friend, and Trollipuff chases Coral for wearing a canary yellow dress.
