The Stunticons are sent on a secret mission by Megatron to collect special components for a new super weapon. The Autobots apprehend the Stunticons, but fail to discover what Megatron has in store. To uncover the truth, the Autobots disguise themselves as the Stunticons and infiltrate the Decepticon ranks.
Tropes:
- Batman Gambit: Before disguising themselves as the Stunticons, the Autobots secretly sabotaged the ruby needed for Megatron's device. The Autobots planned for the Decepticons to see through their disguise, accurately predicting the they would be so preoccupied trying to expose them that they wouldn't notice the weapons components had been tampered with.
- The Cavalry: With their cover blown, the Decepticons prepare to finish off the faux-Stunticon team. However, Autobot reinforcements soon arrive and quickly outnumber the Decepticons, forcing them to retreat.
- Dressing as the Enemy: Optimus, Jazz, Sideswipe, Mirage, and Windcharger use camouflage paint to disguise themselves as the Stunticons and discover what Megatron is planning.
- Forgot About His Powers: Despite having automatic force-fields that allow to drive through obstacles unharmed, the Stunticons don't seem to have them active when they're captured by the Autobots. This is most notable with Motormaster, who loses a game of chicken and is severely damaged after crashing into Optimus.
- Game of Chicken: Optimus and Motormaster engage in a game of chicken as the two drive towards each other in a head-on collision. While the two crash into each other, Motormaster is the only one who's damaged. Optimus manages to walk away with only a minor headache.
- Impostor-Exposing Test: The Decepticons force the Autobots to combine into Menasor to figure out which one is the real deal. The Autobots manage to bluff their way through thanks to Mirage's hologram and Windcharger's magnetic field, but the real Menasor blasts them apart and exposes their identities.
- Out-of-Character Alert: Starscream immediately suspects the Stunticons have been replaced when he notices how safely the team is driving when reporting back to Megatron.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Menasor, and subsequently the rest of the Decepticons, flee when the Autobot reinforcements arrive and quickly outnumber the group:Menasor: Too many. Menasor goes!

Starscream: You plan on fighting all alone, Megatron? Good luck!
[Starscream and Soundwave transform and fly off] - Spot the Impostor: The Autobot's cover is blown when the real Stunticons break out of their cells and arrive as Menasor. The Decepticons force the Autobots to combine into Menasor themselves. When the Autobots bluff their way through that, Megatron orders the two Menasors to fight each other and he'll finish off the loser.
- Vapor Trail: Breakdown starts leaking fuel during his fight against the Autobots. Grapple fires a blaster shot that ignites the trail of fuel and sets Breakdown on fire before Inferno puts him out.
