20F - The Preys

    Season 2: Ch. 19 (Chapter 98)

Finding Wangnan's death threat meaningless, Kim points out how he pretty much has the test won since he has the needed seven companions along with having five dorm rooms already locked down. That once Rapdevil finishes off Prince to secure his team's final dorm room, it's game over. However, Wangnan refuses to give up, and storms off down the hallway as there's still the possibility of recruiting "him" to get revenge on Kim.

In dorm 501, Prince attempts to fight Rapdevil knowing that Kim's plan goes up in smoke if he defeats the traitorous Devil of the Right Arm. However, Prince is forced to the ground when he receives one of the Devil of the Right Arm's punches, which Rapdevil orders him to hand over their dorm remote. Meanwhile the rest of Team Wangnan discuss within their dorm rooms how they're supposed to get out of the bad situation they're now in. Coming up with a plan, Horyang suggests to the team that their only chance of winning is to save Prince. As a result, Horyang gives up the room he's currently protecting in order to head off to Prince and Rapdevil's dorm on his own. Horyang also theorizes that Wangnan must have gone to get Viole, which he believes that they have a shot to win if along with saving Prince, they also find a way to recruit Viole to their side.

The 3rd pitch round between Viole and Mule Love in the bathing room continues as they remain engaged in close-combat. Mule Love still easily wins after showing that he can do Viole's freezing Bang as well. However, Mule Love chooses not to fail him just yet since Viole's proven himself to have a lot of potential, which the Ranker now wants to see how far Viole will develop if he keeps climbing the Tower. Mule Love tries once more to convince Viole to leave FUG and pick his teammates. Before Viole could answer, Wangnan arrives, and distracts Mule Love with a chili-powder shinsu bomb long enough to take hold of the Ranker's remote connector. Showing the connector to Viole, Wangnan offers it to him, but on one condition. Wangnan claims to see the Slayer Candidate as the most evil person that can destroy bad people. Thus, he asks for Viole to help him teach an asshole back at the dorms a lesson.

    Season 2: Ch. 20 (Chapter 99)

Mule Love restrains Wangnan for his actions, but Wangnan refuses to give up the Ranker's connector since he doesn't want Kim to pass the test after what he pulled with Nia. Wangnan goes over how he used to have many friends climbing up to the 20th Floor that he would share meals with, but eventually ended up alone when they all gave up on the test. That once it finally seemed like he got one of those friends back to eat a meal with, it was taken away from him. Thus, he announces to Viole and Mule Love that he plans to become the new Tower King in order to kill everyone who steps on other people's dreams. He throws the Ranker's connector over to Viole, who thinks about Hwaryun and what's at stake. Wangnan then asks for Viole to return to the dorms with him in order to defeat Kim.

At dorm 501, Prince continues to get pummeled by Rapdevil as Kim stops by outside the dorm to check on his former leader with the rest of the bodyguards and the possessed Ehwa. Prince wants to know why Kim betrayed him, which Kim admits that it was because he saw the potential in taking the bodyguard team for himself that Prince's father provided for his son. Before Rapdevil could finish Prince off, Horyang arrives, and punches away one of Kim's bodyguards. The possessed Ehwa manages to hold Horyang back for Kim using her powerful flames, but it's at this point that Viole shows up, and freezes Ehwa and Kim with the immobilization Bang. Viole then charges in, and shoving his hand into Ehwa's mouth. He pulls the green-skinned creature out of her to free Ehwa from its possession, and then kills it by slamming the green creature into the wall and punching it out.

The sight of Viole now being here shocks Kim as he realizes that his plan is falling apart. Kim orders for Rapdevil to hurry up with finishing off Prince, but the Lurker Cash son manages to blind the Devil of the Right Arm for a moment with his Lighthouse, and uses the chance to finally open his dorm room. Kim goes on the run, which Horyang advises Viole to chase after him. Viole agrees to do so and goes after Kim while Horyang enters dorm 501 to confront Rapdevil, who finds this to be a joke that Horyang thinks he can take him on. Powering up his right wing to reveal his ultimate form, which includes his right arm transforming as well, Horyang asks if Rapdevil has ever seen a real devil, and that he will show him the real one that lives in his right arm.

Meanwhile, Kim arrives at Viole and Ehwa's dorm room, which is being defended by his goggle teammate named Tin, and quickly shuts the door. However, Viole gets in before the door closes, and reopens it for Wangnan, who charges in to confront Kim and punches him into a wall. With Kim as his mercy, Wangnan claims that he kept his word that he would be coming to kill him.

    Season 2: Ch. 21 (Chapter 100)

The fight between the devils turns into a brutal beatdown as Horyang easily beats up Rapdevil to the point of the latter begging Horyang for mercy. Horyang finally powers down while ordering Rapdevil to not tell anyone what he just saw, which Rapdevil quickly answers that he will. Impressed by what he just witnessed, Prince gladly hands over his dorm's remote to Horyang while admitting that the giant devil turned out to be awesome. With Prince as a new teammate for Team Wangnan, dorm 501 is secured to make up for the other 5th dorm that they had to give up, which Horyang thinks about what to do next. However, he deduces that their only real option is to leave the decision to Viole knowing that even if Horyang uses his full power like just now, he still won't be able to fight whatever the red exoskeleton thing is that he saw come out of Viole's body.

In Viole and Ehwa's dorm, Viole stands by to watch as Tin bails on the loan shark's team, and Wangnan confronts Kim. The loan shark attempts to fight back, but Wangnan easily disarms him; claiming that he caught on that Kim's been powering up his abilities with shinsu enhancing tools. The two bicker at one another over Wangnan's so called justice to kill just to get revenge for Nia as Kim calls out Wangnan for being no different than him. Despite Wangnan stating that he's nothing like Kim, the loan shark answers that like Wangnan, he ended up in a bad situation with Lurker Cash, and had to make do with what he had to survive.

An enraged Wangnan questions how being in a bad situation gives Kim the right to commit the sins he did for Lurker Cash, which Kim answers that he caught on to the boss of Lurker Cash doing anything necessary to make sure that his greatest treasure, Prince, could climb the Tower. He explains to Wangnan that this is how the Tower works, and that there's no need to be angry at anyone since everyone's goal is to do whatever they can to climb the Tower. However, this answer enrages Wangnan even further.Pushing one of his shinsu bomb balls into Kim's mouth, Wangnan states that he can't accept what he did to Nia just for the sake of climbing the Tower.

However, Wangnan can't go through with killing Kim, and decides that he should come to forgive him instead in the hopes that it will cause a chain reaction for the people that Nia tricked to forgive him as well. Despite Kim stating that Wangnan has no right to forgive him, Wangnan yells at the loan shark that his desire is to become the new Tower King no matter what gets in his way. That he plans to change the system so that bad situations, like what happened with Nia and Kim, doesn't happen ever again.

Wangnan decides to end his confrontation with Kim, and asks for the loan shark to live a good life from now on as if it's Nia giving him a second chance. He then thanks Viole for going along with his revenge plan, and lets Viole do what he wants with the current test. Since he's already at his dorm room's finish line, Viole places what he believes to be Mule Love's remote connector into his dorm's remote to win the Trustworthy Room game, which an announcement is made that Viole has won the 20th Floor test. Unbeknownst to Viole however, the remote connector he put into his dorm's remote turned out to be Wangnan's; having swapped his in to trick Viole into becoming a companion for Team Wangnan. As a result, Wangnan's group, which now consists of himself, Viole, Goseng, Miseng, Horyang, Akraptor, Prince and Ehwa, are announced to have passed the 20th Floor test since teaming up with the Viole/Ehwa dorm means that Team Wangnan got the required six dorm rooms to win the game.

Long Summary

    Team Wangnan's Decision

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_01.jpg
Kim questions how Wangnan is going to kill him

Following Wangnan's claim that he's going to kill him for murdering Nia, Kim asks how he plans to do that. He also points out to Wangnan how they already have seven teammates, five rooms secure, Ehwa under their possession, and the Devil of the Right Arm keeping watch over Prince. Kim reveals that once Rapdevil takes the remote away from Prince, Kim's team will secure their sixth room, and his team will pass the 20th Floor test while Wangnan will remain in debt, and on the run from Lurker Cash.

Giving off a smug smile, Kim states through the Pocket for Wangnan to wake up, and realize that his journey is finished here. Wangnan remains crying over Nia's death, but states to Kim that the test is still not over yet. Kim claims Wangnan's statement to be bullshit as Wangnan exits the dorm 201 room he's currently in. Akraptor calls out to him wondering what's going on as Wangnan thinks to himself that there's still a chance if he can convince Viole to return. Running down the dorm hall, the tears continue to stream down his face as Wangnan thinks to himself that he will do anything at this point in order to defeat the man known as Kim Lurker.

Back over to dorm 501, Prince, still holding their dorm's remote, continues to stand opposite Rapdevil. The son of Lurker Cash gives off a smile, and mentions how Rapdevil missed an important detail in that if he beats Rapdevil here, Kim's plan will fail completely. Pulling out his purple needle weapon, Prince asks how a weakling can be so confident, but is caught off-guard when Rapdevil charges at him, and lands a punch to Prince's gut.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_02.jpg
Horyang informs his team that their only chance of winning is to save Prince

The Lurker Cash son falls to his knees in pain as the Devil of the Right Arm stands over him to remind Prince that this is a real fight compared to the arcade punching game. Rapdevil orders for Prince to hand the remote over, or else he will kill him with the next attack.

The rest of Wangnan's group remains behind in dorm 201. Akraptor questions how Wangnan could just run away without telling anyone what he's planning, which causes Goseng to ask what they should do now. She points out how the test is pretty much over if the stuff Kim told them is true, which causes Horyang to answer that he plans to give up the room he's currently in. The answer confuses Akraptor and Goseng, which Horyang answers that their only chance for their team to win is to head for dorm 501 in order to save Prince from Rapdevil. Goseng continues to reject the plan, but Horyang explains further that they won't accomplish anything just sitting back to protect their rooms, and states that he will go alone so that their team only loses one room.

Getting up to start moving, Horyang mentions to the group that he believes Wangnan must have left to try to convince Viole to join them. He also states that it's a common practice to look for the devil when god turns their back on them. Horyang admits that there's a possibility of a different result here if he manages to save Prince, and if Wangnan manages to recruit Viole.

    Recruiting Viole

Back to the bathing room, the round of the 3rd pitch continues as Viole is shown still pushing against Mule Love with his copied Breaking Ball punch. Shocked that Viole has already perfected all of the special moves the Ranker showed off against him that previously took him decades to learn, Mule Love admits that the FUG Slayer is definitely a monster.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_03.jpg
3rd pitch: Mule Love freezes Viole with an immobilization Bang of his own

The close-combat fight continues, but Mule Love points out that despite proving to be a monster, Viole's still incredibly unrefined. The Ranker questions to himself how far Viole will make it up the Tower, and believes that the FUG Slayer could achieve great things if he switched over to the good side.

Admitting that he looks forward to a possible case happening, Mule Love grabs hold of Viole, and freezes him with an immobilization Bang of his own. The Ranker then walks over to the connector, and grabs hold of it. He points out to Viole how the FUG Slayer hadn't thought of the possibility that Mule Love could freeze him back, and states that this is his 3rd strike, and that their duel is now over.

However, Mule Love admits that Viole has proven himself to be a talented person, and states that he doesn't wish to fail him this way. Wanting the FUG Slayer to use his powers for good, the Ranker asks once more for Viole to accept his teammates, but also orders for him to give up on FUG. If Viole does these two things, Mule Love will allow him to pass. Before Viole could answer however, they're interrupted by Wangnan, who comes in screaming for them to wait.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_04.jpg
Wangnan snatches Mule Love's connector to make a deal with Viole

Entering the bathing room, Wangnan throws one of his shinsu exploding balls in the direction of Mule Love, which explodes on the Ranker. Mule Love quickly realizes that it was just a pepper bomb, but realizes that Wangnan had somehow swiped the connector out of the Ranker's hand. Looking at Wangnan now holding the connector, Mule Love questions what he's doing, but Wangnan orders everyone not to move.

Wangnan explains that he now has control of the Ranker's connector, which causes Mule Love to realize that something bad must have happened with the Regulars at the dorms. Looking over to Viole, Wangnan begs the FUG Slayer to help him defeat a bad guy back in the dorms. He explains that someone once told him a saying that it's not the good guys who defeat the bad guys, but that the bad guys will lose to those that are much worse people.

He states that Viole is the most evil guy he knows, and asks for Viole to come with him in order to teach a bad guy he knows a lesson. Holding the connector before them, Wangnan states that he will give Viole the Ranker's connector if he does. Mule Love rejects the offer, and reminds Wangnan that doing so will cause all the Regulars currently taking the test to fail. However, Wangnan answers that seeing everyone fail is better than seeing Kim pass the test, which irritates Mule Love.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_05_5.jpg
Wangnan questions if the Tower is meant to provide for, or destroy, people's dreams

The Ranker charges at Wangnan, and orders the Regular to stop talking nonsense. Kicking Wangnan to the ground, Mule Love lands on top of the Regular to restrain him, and orders for the Regular to hand the connector over, but Wangnan yells out that he won't do it. He yells out that Kim killed Nia, but Mule Love reminds him that its normal for people to die in the exams, and orders for Wangnan to get his act together.

Finally calming down, Wangnan tells a story of how he had many friends when he first arrived on the 20th Floor. That they ate sweet and sour pork together. However, they began to give up the test one after another until he was the only one left. Wangnan would remain alone in his apartment looking at an empty food bowl, which made him feel like it was telling Wangnan to give up, and that everything was now hopeless. Wangnan points out how he hated that feeling, but coming across Nia during the 20th Floor test finally gave him back someone he could enjoy that sweet and sour pork moment with again. He begins to tear up when Wangnan states that he had a moment of hope returned to him only to have it taken away due to Kim killing Nia.

The tears begin to flow once more as Wangnan questions Mule Love and Viole if the Tower was designed to make dreams come true, or cause people to give up on their dreams. He asks if it's not justice to punish those that use other people's dreams to further their own.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_06.jpg
Wangnan throws Mule Love's connector over to Viole

Wangnan answers it himself that he can't forgive people who do that, and states that he will destroy everyone that stepped on someone else's dream in order to continue their climb up the Tower. Looking at Viole, Wangnan announces that it's his desire to become the Tower King in order to destroy all the people that would step on someone else's dream. He throws the connector to Viole, and states that he will make a deal with the devil in order to make his dream happen.

Mule Love watches Viole catch the Ranker's connector, and begins to fear for the worst. Wangnan figures that he lost the test at this point, but orders for Viole to go with him to defeat Kim. However, Viole remains still, and thinks over the current situation; including something that Hwaryun told him in the past. Confused to see Viole standing still, Wangnan continues to try to get the FUG Slayer's attention.

Back to dorm 501, a bloodied Prince gets knocked back into the wall by Rapdevil. Struggling to speak, Prince orders for Rapdevil to stop making fun of him, and asks for the Devil of the Right Arm to finish it instead of drawing the fight out. At this point, a voice is heard at the door asking if Prince is alright. The Lurker Cash son realizes it to be Kim, and calls him a traitor for doing this. Kim jokes that it's a relief to hear that Prince is still alive, but Prince deduces that he stopped by just to watch him die, which Kim admits to be the case.

    Team Wangnan vs. Team Kim

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_07.jpg
Kim reveals that he betrayed Prince to take the latter's bodyguards as his own

Prince asks why Kim chose to do this to him, but Kim answers that there wasn't any special reason. The rest of Kim's team appears behind him as the loan shark points out that Prince's father provided his son a few loyal servants, a bodyguard in the Devil of the Right Arm, and even a cute girlfriend from the Great Yeon Family. He states that Prince had quite a nice team given to him, but informs the son of Lurker Cash that the team is now completely his. Prince becomes enraged at what Kim just told him as the latter orders for Rapdevil to finish Prince off. Struggling to get back up, Prince asks for Kim to continue waiting outside their dorm since he plans to kill him if he survives his fight with the Devil of the Right Arm. Prince looks up at Rapdevil about to finish him off as Kim is heard on the other side of the door saying his goodbye.

Before Rapdevil could finish off Prince, a loud sound catches everyone's attention as Kim sees one of his bodyguards getting punched back by Horyang. A surprised Kim asks what's going on, which Horyang answers that his enemy has come to fight him. Horyang attempts to land a punch of Kim, but has his attack blocked when he orders Ehwa to defend him. The possessed Ehwa manages to knock Horyang back with her powerful flames as Kim gives off a smug smile.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_08.jpg
Viole frees Ehwa from the green-skinned creature's possession

Kim apologizes that he's someone who doesn't mind playing dirty by having to hide behind women, but admits that Horyang is a courageous one for choosing to take his entire team on by himself. Kim orders the possessed Ehwa to burn Horyang as the flames surrounding the giant Regular become larger. Horyang figures that his only option left would be to kill Kim and Ehwa, but before he could switch to a different attack, a voice is heard telling them all to stop, which freezes Horyang, Kim and Ehwa in place.

Viole appears in the hallway, and charges at the location of Kim and Ehwa. Seeing Viole again, a painful memory of Viole telling her that he's not interested in her body returns to an embarrassed Ehwa's mind as she attempts to get back at him with a punch. However, Viole sticks his hand in her mouth, and manages to pull out the green-skinned creature that had taken possession of her.

Throwing the green-skinned creature against the wall, Viole punches it, and causes the creature to explode. Ehwa falls to the ground coughing due to having the creature extracted from her as Kim watches in confusion as to what just happened before him. He looks over at where the green-skinned creature exploded, and is confused as to why Viole is standing before them. Kim yells for Rapdevil to hurry to steal Prince's remote before Viole wreaks everything, which causes the Devil of the Right arm to move in once more. However, Prince reveals his hidden lighthouse, and manages to blind Rapdevil for a brief moment.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_09.jpg
Horyang enters dorm 501 to save Prince from Rapdevil

Prince uses this opportunity to open the entrance of his dorm room as Horyang is seen stepping into dorm 501. Seeing that Prince was able to open his room, Kim decides to run for it. Horyang tells Viole that he will take care of the Devil of the Right Arm, and asks that he continue to chase after Kim. Viole accepts to go after him, which leaves Horyang alone to fight Rapdevil.

Standing opposite Horyang, Rapdevil gives off a smile, and asks if Horyang can truly defeat him without Viole's help. Horyang ignores the question, and asks the Devil of the Right Arm if he's ever actually seen a real devil. The question confuses Rapdevil as Horyang extends his right wing, and completely transforms his righ arm into a glowing spike of shinsu. Horyang informs Rapdevil that he will gladly show him the devil that's currently living in his right arm, and asks Rapdevil to prove to him who the real devil between the two of them is.

Arriving at Viole and Ehwa's dorm, a sweating Kim orders for the goggle Regular, revealed to be named Tin, to close the room. Tin is left confused by the situation as Kim grabs the remote himself, and shuts the entrance to their dorm. He then uses this moment to catch his breath as Tin asks what's going on.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_11.jpg
Viole opens his dorm for Wangnan

However, to the shock of the both of them, they see Viole standing before them having gotten into the room before Kim could close it. Viole opens the door again as Wangnan comes charging in to punch Lurker in the face. Kim ends up getting knocked back into the wall as Wangnan announces that he kept his word that he will reach Kim to kill him.

Switching to outside dorm 501, screams can be heard from Rapdevil inside the room; getting constantly punched by Horyang. He begins to beg for Horyang to let him go, but Horyang continues to punch him. Rapdevil begins to beg for mercy, but the punches continue to the point that Rapdevil is left a bloody mess. Stating that he was wrong, Rapdevil begs the devil to forgive him. The beatdown finally ends as Prince continues to watch in stunned silence. Horyang's wing returns to normal, and orders for Rapdevil to not mention to anyone who he met here, which Rapdevil quickly answers that he will be sure to never tell anyone.

Prince continues to look at Horyang, and not only admits that Horyang is strong, but is actually super awesome. Rapdevil states that he will tell people that he actually saw an angel this day, but Horyang orders him not to since that's not what he actually is. Turning to Prince, Horyang asks for the Lurker Cash son to hand over the remote for their dorm, which causes Prince hand it over without any interference.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_12.jpg
Horyang secures dorm 501 for his team

Prince continues to look at Horyang in stunned amazement as Horyang uses this moment to think over his next move. Horyang deduces that he should probably head to Ehwa and Viole's dorm to make sure that Viole doesn't complete his solo test when he returns with the Ranker's connector. However, knowing that there's something powerful within Viole seeing that red exoskeleton of his in the 1st Round, he decides against it that he won't be able to accomplish much. Pressing the button on the remote to secure dorm 501 for Wangnan's team, Horyang figures that their only option is to leave it up for Viole to decide.

Back over to Kim and Tin's dorm, the latter decides to bail on Kim seeing that their entire plan has fallen apart. Wangnan continues to stand before Kim, who questions how crazy Wangnan must be to bring Viole to their location. Kim asks if he did this expecting the two of them to die to Viole, which Wangnan admits that he's crazy for going this route. Calling Wangnan an asshole, Kim attempts to land a shinsu enhanced punch on him, but Wangnan easily dodges, and kicks the elbow of Kim's other arm. Screaming out in pain, Kim drops a blue ball object, which Wangnan explains that he already figured out that Kim was powering up his shinsu attacks with the device in his hand.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_13.jpg
Kim laughs at Wagnan's contradiction for wanting justice by revenge killing

Pushing his leg against Kim's left arm, Wangnan orders for Kim to not attempt another one of his nasty tricks, and states that it's now time for the loan shark to receive his proper punishment. He pushes his leg harder against Kim's left arm as he screams out in pain once more. Wangnan tells him that this is not only his revenge, but for Nia, and everyone else that he hurt working for Lurker Cash. Taking out his Inventory Pocket that has the shinsu exploding balls, Wangnan asks that Kim atones for his sins with his death.

Looking up at Wangnan, Kim gives off a laugh at Wangnan pretending to be a man of justice. Wangnan grabs hold of Kim's clothes asking how he could laugh after everything he's done, which Kim admits that it's funny, because of how contradictory Wangnan is being by claiming that it's justice to kill someone in revenge. Kim asks if Wangnan truly believes he could see himself as something other than a cold-blooded killer, which enrages Wangnan. Punching the loan shark again, Wangnan orders for Kim to not compare himself to him, which causes Kim to laugh again at the fact that he hit a nerve.

Wangnan holds Kim once more, and states that he's different than him, which causes Kim to ask if Wangnan even knows the reason as to why he became a part of Lurker Cash. Saying it over the Pocket so Prince in dorm 501 could hear, Kim tells everyone that he was forced into the job, because he had borrowed money from the boss of Lurker Cash.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_14.jpg
Kim explains how his situation is no different than Wangnan's

The revelation stuns Wangnan and Prince as Kim further explains that he's someone like Wangnan who was forced to borrow money in an attempt to climb the Tower. However, he failed ,and now has a massive debt, and is trapped to be stuck on the 20th Floor. Kim states that he had to give up his desire to climb the Tower, and had to take a job at Lurker Cash after begging for his life in front of the boss. Continuing to yell at Wangnan, Kim states that this is the reason as to why the two of them are no different from one another, and that they've both been screwed by Lurker Cash.

Gripping Kim's clothes even harder, Wangnan asks him how he can consider that as an excuse for the sins he committed, which Kim answers that it's because his boss called him up one day. He explains that his boss had asked him for a favor for Kim to help Prince climb the Tower, and that he would do anything to make sure that his son makes it up. Kim explains that the boss of Lurker Cash treasures his son more than anything, and that Kim had caught on to how his boss was bribing the Test Supervisors of each Tower Floor to make sure that Prince made it through. Giving off a massive laugh, Kim asks if Wangnan finds it funny that his Lurker Cash boss is taking advantage of people's dreams to make sure that his son can climb the Tower.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_15.jpg
Wangnan threatens to kill Kim for the poor excuse he provided killing Nia

He points out how ridiculous this all turned out to be that everything surrounding Lurker Cash was just to make sure that what the boss considers to be his greatest treasure can safely climb the Tower. Looking up at Wangnan, Kim informs him that this is what the Tower is about, and that there's no need to blame or hate anyone. In the end, all that matters is climbing up the Tower.

He asks Wangnan why it's such a big deal that a kid would die off along the way, which angers Wangnan even more. He orders for Kim to shut up, and shoves an exploding ball in his mouth; asking Kim if he truly believes that climbing the Tower excuses him for all his actions.

Wangnan yells at Kim that he refuses to accept that, and questions how he could consider killing Nia as something that doesn't matter. Ready to activate the bomb, Kim begins to tremble in fear at his possible death, but Wangnan is unable to go through with it, and drops the bomb away from Kim's mouth. Breaking into tears again, Wangnan states that he should forgive Kim for his actions, which confuses the loan shark.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_16.jpg
Wangnan announces that he will become the new Tower King to change the rules

Wangnan explains that he knows it sounds weird, but comes to admitting that if he forgives Kim for what he did, then in return, the people that were tricked by Nia will forgive him as well. Standing up, Wangnan states that he's decided to forgive Kim. Confused by the statement, Kim gets up and holds Wangnan's shirt collar asking what gives him the right to forgive someone who doesn't believe he has anything to be forgiven for. He orders for Wangnan to kill him stating that no one in the Tower has the right to forgive him, but Wangnan punches him back again, and states that he will change everything.

Holding Kim against the wall, Wangnan announces that he plans to become the new Tower King, and that he will change how the current structure of the Tower works so that situations, like what they all ended up in with Lurker Cash, doesn't happen again. He states to Kim that his dream to become the new Tower King is what drives him to climb the Tower, as well as the desire to make sure that people don't end up like Nia, or even the loan shark that killed him.

He yells at Kim that he will never give up, even if he fails thousands of times, or if people betray him, and laugh at his goal thinking that it's impossible. Letting go of Kim, Wangnan states that a man should always hold on to their dream and passion. He begs for Kim to use this opportunity to live a good life from now on since this is the chance that Nia provided for him. Getting up, Wangnan begins to walk away. He passes by Viole, who had continued to stand by in silence, and thanks the FUG Slayer for going along with him.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc18_17.jpg
Viole wins the test, but doesn't notice that he used Wangnan's connector

Wangnan takes a seat on one of the beds in Viole's dorm room, and states that Viole can now do whatever he wants to finish the test. Viole puts what he believes to be Mule Love's connector into the remote for his and Ehwa's dorm as the Ranker announces that the Trustworthy Room test is now over, and that the winner is Jue Viole Grace. However, Wangnan, Goseng, Miseng, Horyang, Akraptor, Prince and Ehwa's names are also called, as apparently, the seven of them have passed the test alongside Viole.

The connector for Viole and Ehwa's room shows that Viole had actually placed Wangnan's connector in the remote along with his; reading on the remote's monitor that the connector of Ja Wangnan is now connected.

The Preys Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Kim Lurker's group continues to serve as this.
  • Backstory: A bit of Wangnan's backstory is seen here, but just his experience on the 20th Floor when his original team fell apart.
  • Beat the Curse Out of Him: Viole literally drags the parasite controlling Ehwa out of her body by sticking his fingers inside her mouth and pulling it out. He then splatters the parasite all over the wall for good measure.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Horyang easily shows Rapdevil who the real Devil is.
    • The moment Viole appears on the scene, things go sideways for Team Lurker very fast.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Horyang, who proves to Rapdevil who the real devil amongst them is.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite all the sins Kim committed as a worker of Lurker Cash, Wangnan forgives him since he hopes that it will start a chain reaction for those that got tricked by Nia to forgive him as well. This is a downplayed example as Wangnan is visibly restraining himself and pained, but feels that it's the right choice.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Basically what Wangnan is going for here. In order to defeat the evil Kim, he recruits the evil Viole to fight him.
  • Fan Boy: Prince becomes one to Horyang after seeing the latter destroy Rapdevil easily.
  • Foreshadowing: A brief image of Hwaryun is shown when Viole thinks about his current situation after Wangnan hands him Mule Love's connector.
  • Goal in Life: It's already been established, but Wangnan makes it pretty clear to Kim, and Viole in particular, that he desires to be the new Tower King.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Wangnan decides that allowing Lurker to get away with his crimes is worse than everyone failing the test; so he figures that if Lurker wants to pretend to be the big fish, he has to get a bigger, meaner fish to put him in his place, and goes straight to Viole in order to convince him to stop Lurker in exchange for letting Viole fail them all.
  • Revenge: Wangnan is driven by revenge against Kim here to get him back for Nia's death.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Tin, the goggle Regular that joined Kim's team, bails after realizing that the latter's plan is in ruins.
  • Wham Shot:
    • The sight of Horyang activating his ultimate devil power before Rapdevil is a pretty big one.
    • The very last image of the arc where even though Viole won his side-duel, he put Wangman's connector in the remote.
