2F - Submerged Fish

    Season 1: Ch. 52 (Chapter 52)

Some time after the Hide-and-Seek test, Bam's seen at Rachel's bedside, who remains resting after getting injured by Hoh. Lero-Ro then announces to the Regulars that the results of said test will be given out soon. Meanwhile, Khun meets with Endorsi during meal time at the cafeteria, which he blames her for ruining his plan since the deal they made behind-the-scenes was for Endorsi to make sure that Bam and Rachel don't meet one another during the Hide-and-Seek test. Khun then gets drinks with Shibisu, who given that he doesn't know what Khun tried to pull, tries to reassure Khun that it's not his fault that Team-A lost.

Khun returns to his room to think things over until Rak stops by. However, Khun realizes something's off as it turns out that Rak had been shrunken down to midget size. A brief flashback is seen of Rak bumping into Yu Hansung in the hallway, which the annoyed Yu Hansung decided to punishing the former with a shrinking technique. In the present, the shrunk Rak hopes that Khun's Manbarondenna bag that shrinks objects into it can do the opposite to return him to normal size, but Khun provides him the bad news that his bag can't do that. Rak then asks about Bam, but Khun provides even more bad news that Bam is probably done with climbing the Tower given that he's already accomplished his goal of reuniting with Rachel.

    Season 1: Ch. 53 (Chapter 53)

Seeing how Rak's still motivated to keep Bam around, Khun tells his story of how he helped his half-sister, Maria, in the Khun Family become the Jahad Princess over his actual Agnis faction sister. However, the result of doing so has left Khun feeling an emptiness. That he thought he would feel something if he took part in helping out with the whole Bam and Rachel mess, but still in the end feels nothing. In return, Rak calls him out on it that the emptiness he's feeling is because he had forced his decision onto Maria without her say in the matter. And that if he truly wanted Maria to be Princess, then Khun should have killed the old King to become the new King and do it himself.

At this point, Bam returns to the two of them. He provides the bad news that Rachel's injury has left her paralyzed to the point of not being able to walk anymore, which surprise Khun and Rak. Thus, Bam informs the two of them that he's decided to become Rachel's legs to help her climb the Tower. That even though he has no interest in seeing the starry sky, he's decided to help Rachel make her dream come true. Bam then asks for Khun and Rak to help him since they're his two most cherished friends, which Khun starts to realize what he's missing. He thinks about how he was unable to tell Maria that he wanted to climb the Tower with her.

Regaining his confidence, Khun announces that he will help Bam in whatever evil way he can think of. With Rak in agreement, he, Bam and Khun become true companions. They use the next moments to discuss how they will climb the Tower together with Rachel, which Khun concludes that while the three of them have done enough to all pass to the next test, the problem is Rachel's injury keeping her out of it. As a result, Khun figures that their best option is for him to talk to Lero-Ro, Bam to get stronger, Rak be the leader, and to seek out allies that will help them. They then head off to put the plan into action.

    Season 1: Ch. 54 (Chapter 54)

Having grown as friends, Serena meets with Shibisu at his room to discuss things over drinks. Serena reveals to him that the recent test, and Hoh's death, has drained her will to the point of ending her Tower climb. However she's also resolved to take life more seriously. She also goes over how she seems to understand why Hoh hated Bam so much in that he stays determined towards achieving his goal without losing hope, which Hoh and Serena aren't capable of.

Elsewhere, Bam goes about trying to convince Regulars to help Rachel climb the Tower, but is unable to convince anyone since no one wants to help an injured person. Endrosi then meets up with Bam wanting to know why he's so obsessed with Rachel, which he tells his past of how he was born in a dark cave that had no escape other than a light at the top that looked like the exit hole, but it was blocked by a large rock. Thus, Bam built a rock tower up to the light, but being unable to remove the rock, he was stuck and alone. However, the day came where the rock was removed from the other side, and it was Rachel who came to retrieve him. Thus, Bam states to Endrosi that Rachel being the one who saved him from the cave prison, and his loneliness, is why he will follow Rachel.

At that same time, Khun meets with Lero-Ro to discuss a method to get Rachel into the final test. Lero-Ro makes it clear that they can't have an injured person take the next test, but Khun figures that there must be an out if a Ranker messed with the test, which catches Lero-Ro's attention. Khun reveals that after doing a bit of investigating, he found out that a Ranker had gotten involved with a test for Regulars having found in Hoh's room the note to attack Rachel in the Hide-and-Seek test in an attempt to make Bam fail.

At that same time, the Wave Controller teacher, Yuga, is seen on his own on the 2nd Floor speaking to someone on his Pocket, which has the symbol of King Jahad on it. The teacher provides the report to the person on the Pocket that the Black March and Green April will be retrieved, and that the Regulars they're keeping an eye on will surely pass the final 2nd Floor Tests. After the call ends, Yuga views Bam as a potential recruit, but also gets suspicious that Yu Hansung is planning something behind the scenes with 2nd Floor Ranker Evankhell. It's at this point that Yuga's confronted by Yu Hansung, who caught on that Yuga went off to do something suspicious. Yu Hansung reveals that he knows Yuga's true identity as Ren, the 67th member of the Royal Enforcement Division (RED for short), which puts Ren on guard.

    Season 1: Ch. 55 (Chapter 55)

After Yuga's revealed to be Ren of RED, Yu Hansung claims that he already knew that Ren was a spy that infiltrated the 2nd Floor. Hyped for a fight against a powerful Wave Controller like Yu Hansung, Ren summons out a giant eel-like creature ready to attack.

Meanwhile, Khun goes over his investigation with Lero-Ro that had him deduce that a Ranker tried to interrupt Bam's Tower climb. That before the Hide-and-Seek test, he met with Hwaryun, who warned him that Hoh's been growing jealous of Bam. After that, Khun investigated further where his classmate, Full Black, saw Hoh doing something suspicious one night at his room, and upon investigating Hoh's room, Khun found the note about messing with Rachel to put a stop to Bam. Khun then went to Rachel to warn her about it before telling Bam, but that Rachel asked to keep it as a secret as along with wanting to climb the Tower without Bam, she also doesn't want to see Bam get hurt.

Khun continues to go over the plan that since he ended up on a different Hide-and-Seek team, he made deals with Endorsi to keep Bam and Rachel apart, as well as informing Quant during Team-A's test that Hoh on Team-B was going to betray his team, which he also had to convince Lauroe to help with the plan to get Quant back up to the bridge to make his team lose. Gloating that he managed to trick a Ranker into protecting Rachel from the other team, Khun states to Lero-Ro that the plan was perfect.

    Season 1: Ch. 56 (Chapter 56)

After hearing Khun's investigation, Lero-Ro questions how a Ranker's involved with giving Hoh the memo to stop Bam's Tower climb. In return, Khun points out that since the memo appeared long before his investigation, only a Ranker would know the team set-up for Hoh, Bam, and Rachel to all be on the same team to make this event happen.

At that same time at the hidden 2nd Floor location, Ren stands ready to fight Yu Hansung. Ren orders his eel to eat Yu Hansung but as it goes for the bite, its head is instantly cut off by Yu Hansung's power. Seeing Yu Hansung instantly kill his eel excites Ren that an opponent is finally giving him a challenge, but before he could continue, Yu Hansung reveals that he's not actually here to fight Ren, which confuses Ren. Yu Hansung instead reveals to Ren that the former knows of how Ren was sent to the 2nd Floor by the Jahad Family to retrieve the Black March and Green April of the 13 Month Weapon series, as well as dispose of the Fake Jahad Princess, Anaak. As a result, Yu Hansung informs Ren that he will provide the member of RED a chance to accomplish that goal. Yu Hansung then walks way to return to the Floor of Tests, which leaves Ren even more confused as to why the former is choosing to help him.

At that same time, Lero-Ro thinks things over, and admits that there's something off about the current situation due to the sudden appearances of two 13 Month weapons (Black March and Green April), two Jahad Princesses (Endorsi and Anaak), and two Irregulars (Bam and Rachel), along with Yu Hansung's words of disposing of the "dangers" to the Tower. Convinced that something's amiss, Lero-Ro informs Khun that there may be a way to get Rachel into the final 2nd Floor test.

Meanwhile, Yu Hansung is back in his office as he heads off to announce the Hide-and-Seek test results for the Regulars. Yu Hansung thinks over how right now, there's going to be a tsunami that will shake the Tower.

Long Summary

     Post Hide-and-Seek Rest

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_01.jpg
Rachel resting after being injured in the Hide-and-Seek test

The Regulars are given a days rest after completing the Hide-and-Seek test. At the start of the next day, Lero-Ro is heard over a loadspeaker testing his microphone, and greets everyone with a good morning. He then asks if they ate a good breakfast, and hopes that the Regulars choose not to stay in their beds due to possible exhaustion from the Hide-and-Seek test. Rachel is seen recovering in the infirmary as Bam waits at her bedside.

Lero-Ro continues to speak to explain that now that all the Position Tests are over, the food will be free from here on out. He asks for anyone who didnt get to eat much due to point conservation to eat to their heart's content, but admits that the food here isn't that great. At this point, Lero-Ro gets to the main topic. He informs the Regulars that at six o-clock, the winners of the Hide-and-Seek test will be announced, and asks for everyone to gather in the 1st Hall by that time. With everything said, Lero-Ro ends his announcement.

In the Floor of Test cafeteria, Endorsi is seen ordering a frapatto cream spagetti. She looks over at the tables noticing that there aren't many other Regulars here, and spots Khun on her left ordering a fried rice dish. The two sit down at the same table to eat their meals as Khun speaks first to point out that he was surprised to see her hide Team-B's Tag inside her skirt. Endorsi admits that she shocked herself choosing to do it, and asks Khun if he really did cause Team-A's loss for Bam's sake. Khun counters with a question of his own about Endorsi failing to keep the Bam and Rachel separated, which she answers that she couldn't help it.

Khun blames Endorsi for ruining his entire plan

Getting up to move to another location, Khun leaves a last minute word stating that Endorsi's actions ruined his entire plan. Now alone, Endorsi looks down at her food, and states to herself that she finds the taste terrible, and would have been better if it was eel.

At a vending machine, Shibisu is seen filling up two drink glasses with soda, and offers one of the drinks to Khun. Shibisu jokes about the drink being on him even though it's all considered free now, and asks for Khun to forget about what happened in the Hide-and-Seek test. Shibisu points out that even though Team-B won compared to their team, no one is blaming Khun for the loss, and that no one will be unhappy towards him if they end up getting eliminated. Khun accepts the answer, and returns to his room afterwards.

Remaining in his room looking up at the ceiling, Khun is interrupted when Rak stops by, and begins banging on his door. Khun gets up annoyed not wanting to deal with anyone at the moment, but as he opens the door, he receives a headbutt to the chest from a Rak who's looking a bit shorter than usual. Khun becomes enraged at Rak for the sudden attack, but is shocked to find the miniature alligator standing before him. He asks Rak where his dad went, which causes Rak to hit Khun once more.

    True Companions

Khun seeing that Rak had been turned into a midget

Seeing Rak take a seat on the bed, Khun admits that even though he's smaller, his strength is still the same. Unable to hold in his laughter anymore, Khun breaks down at the sight of Rak's current predicament stating that it's hilarious how the alligator became a munchkin overnight. Khun continues to laugh uncontrollably as Rak tries to get Khun to knock it off.

Rak thinks back to how it happened when he ran into the coffee addict, Yu Hansung, an hour before the Hide-and-Seek tests. The previously giant Rak is seen walking on his own wondering what he should do while the rest of the Regulars are busy with the joint tests. He gets annoyed thinking back to how he was unable to communicate with Akryung, but has his thoughts interrupted when he bumps into Yu Hansung. Unable to see who it really is due to hair covering his eyes, Rak orders for the Ranker to buzz off for bumping into the great Rak.

Yu Hansung then uncovers his eyes to look directly at Rak as the alligator finally realizes who he just threatened. Shock takes hold of Rak as Yu Hansung uses an ability that shrinks the alligator down to a midget. The Ranker then begins to walk around the shrunken Rak, and continues to purposefully bump into him. With a smug look on his face, Yu Hansung apologizes for bumping into the small creature each time, which Lero-Ro begs for him to continue towards the Hall to provide the Regulars their grades.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_04.jpg
Rak enraged at Yu Hansung for making him small

Back to the present, Rak screams out in anger at Yu Hansung for doing this to him. Khun questions if the reason Rak came to him was to see if his Manbarondenna bag will make the alligator big again, which Rak answers to be the case. Khun informs him that his bag doesn't have such a function, which shocks the alligator. Khun explains that his Manbarondenna bag can only compress objects to fit into his bag. That he needs to get permission to change the size of a living being. He then asks for Rak to leave, which annoys the alligator who points out that Khun is only good for cheating.

Changing the subject, Rak asks what happened to the black turtle, and hopes that he wasn't already eaten by someone else. Khun answers that he's safe, but is sad to say that there's a chance Bam will choose not to proceed to the 3rd Floor. Rak questions what he means, which Khun answers that Bam no longer has any desire to climb the Tower now that he's with the girl he was chasing after. Rak yells out in objection questioning why his prey is no longer going up the Tower due to a female turtle, but Khun answers that it's none of their business. Rak counters by stating that he doesn't accept this as the leader of their group, but Khun answers that it's not their decision, but Bam's.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_05.jpg
Khun tells Rak his story of how he made his half-sister, Maria, a Jahad Princess

Rak continues to object that he will take his prey along with him, even if it's against Bam's wish. The alligator looks over at Khun's direction, and sees him laying on his bed; noting that Khun now has dead eyes, and has become even more useless. Khun informs Rak that he has a half-sister named Maria, and points out how unlike him, she was a nice girl who knows how to care for others. He then states that he grew up in the main Khun family surrounded by people intrigued in him, but Maria was considered an alien miracle. Khun continues his story that seeing how Maria did things was enough to consider her to be the one that stands by King Jahad, and that he had succeeded in his plan to make Maria the chosen Jahad Princess rather than his actual sister.

However, Khun reveals to Rak that ever since the day Maria became a Jahad Princess, something had been missing in his heart. That perhaps he's climbing the Tower to find what he lost that day. He tells Rak that his plan was to see if something would come from Bam chasing after Rachel while the latter continued to look after the former. However, Khun states that he was probably just reluctant in seeing the two reunite before finding what he was looking for, and that seeing Bam in pain at the end of the Hide-and-Seek test was proof enough that nothing had changed.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_06.jpg
Rak calls out Khun for forcing his decision on Maria

Looking back on it, Khun questions what it is that could be missing in his life, but Rak answers that Khun is in a worse situation then he thought. Getting up on a bench to look at Khun face-to-face, Rak questions Khun's logic forcing Maria off to become a Jahad Princess, and asks if that truly is love between siblings. Khun questions if Rak truly understands what it means to have all the power of a Jahad Princess, but Rak answers that if he saw someone that deserved to be a princess, he would kill off the King, and proclaim himself as the new one so that he can make her a princess himself. Khun figures that Rak still doesn't understand anything, but Rak counters by stating that what he believes that Khun lost that day was his banana (privates). At this point, the two of them hear knocks on the door, and Bam walks in to greet them.

Bam tells Khun and Rak that he has something he wants to discuss with them, which confuses the two. Bam states that he's gotten word that Rachel will most likely not be able to walk anymore from here on out. Shocked by the statement, Bam explains that it's curable if they can find a doctor who uses shinsu, but they will require an expert, and that the process will cost a fortune and take a lot of time.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_07.jpg
Bam informs Khun and Rak that he will climb the Tower as Rachel's legs

Before Bam could state what he's going to do next, Rak orders him not to leave since Bam's his prey. However, Bam answers that he's going to act as Rachel's legs, which confuses Khun and Rak. Bam explains that he's made the decision to be Rachel's legs that will help her climb the Tower. He states that he doesn't care about what's in the Tower, or that he's looking forward to seeing the stars at the top, but will do it in order to make Rachel's dream happen. He informs Khun that he doesn't care how dangerous the climb will be, but he will do it for Rachel's sake. Rak is seen with a giant smile on his face while Khun tries to process together what he just heard.

Bam states that he knows this is too much to ask from Khun. He points out how he's not as strong or smart as him, but asks Khun to join him on his quest as one of his most cherished friends. Khun gives off a smile realizing that he now somewhat gets it regarding what it was that he was missing, and thinks back to how he was unable to ask Maria to climb the Tower with him even though it's the the more dangerous path to choose. Rak gladly accepts the offer as Khun pushes him aside, and states that a difficult path is his specialty. Khun announces to Bam that he will help escort him and Rachel to the top of the Tower, and do it in the most evil and sneaky way possible. However, he informs Bam to be prepared as their journey will be rough from here on out. Bam thanks Khun for joining his mission, which Khun asks in return not to thank him for.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_08.jpg
Bam, Khun and Rak become true companions

The two are then heard planning out how they will climb the Tower as Khun asks if he should do it through cheating or bluffing. Bam asks why he has to choose as Rak butts in questioning if the two are ignoring him. A confused Bam asks if Khun got a new alligator doll, which Khun jokes that he doesn't recall buying such a thing. These comments piss off Rak, who orders the two of them to know their roles as his minions. The three of them continue to talk over three drinks of soda as the image changes to make it look like they're sharing drinks together in a calm forest landscape to establish their close friendship.

Khun questions why he felt the background suddenly change, and asks Bam and Rak how they're going to climb to the top of the Tower. Khun points out that Rak had already passed the test, which Rak smiles about in triumph, and figures that he and Bam will pass the Position Test due to what they showed off in Hide-and-Seek. However, he also explains that the problem will be Rachel due to her injury keeping her from taking part in the final test of the 2nd Floor. Khun concludes that their main goal is to find a way to make sure that Rachel gets included in the final test with them, but they will need a place to start from.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_09.jpg
Bam, Khun and Rak head off to find a way to get Rachel into the final test

He figures that their best bet is to get information on the final tests from someone they know, which Khun decides that talking to Lero-Ro is their best bet. Khun then informs Bam that he needs to continue to get stronger in order to protect Rachel from the dangers they will come across as they climb the Tower, which Bam gives the ok to. Khun then states that their next objective is to build a bigger team of people that they can trust to climb the Tower with. Rak asks what his role for the team will be, and Khun answers that Rak will be the established leader of the team, which makes the alligator happy. Bam, Khun and Rak then exit their room, and head off to complete their new goals since they still have seven hours before the Position Test results are announced. Khun announces that it's about time they conquer the 2nd Floor known as Evankhell's Hell.

In another resting room, Serena is seen having drinks and snacks with Shibisu. Serena tries to convince Shibisu to get drunk along with her, but Shibisu answers that he's fine just pouring the drinks for her. Having another drink, Serena gives off a sigh, and states that she finds it odd how Shibisu doesn't appear to be worried about the results of the Position Test. Serena admits that she is, and that witnessing Hoh's death had set her mind to take life more seriously. However, Serena states that the recent tests have shown her how weak she actually is, and that anxiety has taken hold of her since the morning after the Hide-and-Seek test.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_10_4.jpg
Serena admits to Shibisu that the recent tests have drained her will

Serena next asks Shibisu if he knows why Hoh died, but she answers right away that it was because he was weak just like her. Shibisu continues to listen as Serena explains that she understood why Hoh came to hate Bam since the latter is different from all of them.

Serena notes that she saw how Bam always stayed focused on his goals, but never got to the point of falling apart like them. That no matter how hard she tried, she wouldn't be able to beat him, and was mean to him as a result. Giving her another drink, Shibisu figures that she's had too much to drink. However, Serena takes another glass stating that it makes her feel better being able to talk, and laugh, behind Bam's back, and states that of everyone here, he stood out the most.

Elsewhere, Bam is seen trying to talk with Chichi, Anaak, Mauchi, and Paracule, but gets turned down by all of them. Endorsi appears before Bam, and notes how hard-working he's coming off to her trying to gather allies to climb the Tower with him and Rachel. However, Endorsi points out that no one is going to join him knowing that it could waste their chance to pass the final test by teaming up with a cripple. She asks Bam if he truly believes that people will be crazy enough to go along with his plan, but Bam answers that they will.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_11.jpg
Bam explains his past to Endorsi when he was alone in a dark prison

Not getting an answer before, Endorsi asks Bam again why he's so obsessed over Rachel. Endorsi explains that when she first met Rachel in their survival test, there was someone odd about her as if she was a stranger from another world. However, upon closer look, she realized that Rachel was just a normal girl. Endorsi asks what happened between him and Rachel, which Bam answers that he was born in a dark and lonely place.

Listening to Bam's story, he explains that he didn't know who he was, where he was, or why he was there to begin with, but could see a tiny light above him in the dark room he was in. He states that he built a tower of the rocks that were lying all around him in order to climb up to where the light was shining down to him. However, when he finally was able to reach the ceiling ring that was shining the light down to him, he was unable to move the boulder that was blocking the hole. Bam had come to the conclusion that what he was in was a prison, and that someone beyond the light had locked him away.

Bam mentions how he broke down into tears coming to this realization, and how being alone was more painful than an injury caused by accidentally dropping one of the rocks that he used making the rock tower up to the light. It was at this moment however, that a miracle happened. The boulder blocking the hole began to crumble, and dropping down to him was his beautiful savior, Rachel. With his story finished, Bam answers Endorsi that Rachel was the only person to ever find him when he was trapped in the darkness, and that because of this, he's decided to follow after her wherever she goes.

    Conspiracy Behind the Scenes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_12.jpg
Khun meets with Lero-Ro to discuss a way to get Rachel into the final test

Switching over to Khun, he arrives at Lero-Ro's office to get the information he needs. Sitting down in a chair across from the Ranker, Khun looks to the objects all around him, and notes that he has quite a huge collection of limited-edition artifacts. Lero-Ro answers that it's nothing special since it's nothing compared to the stuff that the Khun Family collected over the years. Giving Khun a cup of coffee, Lero-Ro asks for the purpose of their meeting, which Khun answers that he wants to know of any possible method that will make sure Rachel can take part in the final test.

Lero-Ro is surprised at how straightforward Khun is, but informs him that despite the relationship between Bam and Rachel, they can't have her participate for the sake of their personal drama, and that remaining healthy is still a key role to passing the Floor of Tests. In return, Khun asks about a possible outcome if Rachel's injury was caused by someone who wasn't a Regular. Lero-Ro figures that there's no such possibility, but is handed over a piece of paper from Khun, which Lero-Ro realizes to be a memo. Khun answers that it was given to Hoh before the start of the Hide-and-Seek test ordering him to kill Rachel so that Bam will stop climbing the Tower, and informs Lero-Ro that the memo given to Hoh was definitely not from a Regular.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_13.jpg
Yu Hansung informs Yuga that he knows his true identity as Lo Po Bia Ren

At an unknown location on the 2nd Floor, Yuga is seen contacting someone on his Pocket, and apologizes for reporting late due to the amount of eyes he's had to avoid throughout the Floor of Tests. Yuga reports to his contact that the Position Test is complete at this point, and that the two people they've been keeping an eye on will no doubt pass the upcoming evaluation. Hearing his contact annoyed at the obvious result, Yuga answers that there's nothing they can do about it. However, Yuga informs his contact that he will complete his mission to retrieve the Black March and Green April weapons during the Regular's final test. The Ranker also brings up the boy he mentioned earlier, and how Bam's shown the talent to possibly become a part of their Triple-Eye organization one day. However, Yuga mentions that he has to hope that Bam makes it to the status of Ranker first.

Excited to see Bam continue to develop, Yuga announces that he will test him in the final test a bit more in the hopes to one day bring the boy under his rule. The Ranker then informs his contact that he will call again when his work on Evankhell's Floor of Tests is done due to how tough it is for him to send back reports when surveillance throughout the 2nd Floor is tough to evade. Yuga is next seen cursing Yu Hansung; deducing that he's plotting something here with Evankhell after turning down a High Ranker position under King Jahad. However, he hears a voice nearby asking Yuga what he's doing here. Turning in the direction of the voice, Yuga sees Yu Hansung walking towards him, who informs Yuga that his secret call here has gone too far. Yu Hansung reminds Yuga that he told him once before not to show up here, and threatens Yuga by revealing that he knows the wave controller teacher's true identity as Lo Po Bia Ren; number 67 of Jahad's Royal Enforcement Division (RED). Showing off the green eyes inside the mouth of his white wool, Ren asks when it was that Yu Hansung discovered him, which he answers that he's known since the day that Ren arrived late to the wave controller class.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_14.jpg
Lero-Ro questions how Hoh's memo means a Ranker interfered with the tests

Giving off a giggle, Ren figures that he has no choice at this point, but to eat Yu Hansung before word gets out about this. A giant eel appears behind Ren as he claims that it's time to eat. Ren also points out that he's a pretty lucky man at the moment since he's wanted to fight the wave controller genius, known as Yu Hansung, for a long time.

Back to the meeting between Khun and Lero-Ro, the Ranker questions why Khun figures that the memo was not from a Regular. Khun answers that he knew Hoh was beginning to hate Bam greatly moments before the Hide-and-Seek tests went down, and begins to explain the events that happened for him prior to the Hide-and-Seek tests. Starting from an event at the vending machines, Khun is seen struggling to get the soda fountain to work, but is greeted by Hwaryun, who claims that she can fix it. However, Hwaryun smacks down on the machine, which confuses Khun. He then complains how that's going to fix the machine, but is surprised to see the soda actually shooting out of it now. Khun then tries to do the exact stunt, and while he manages to finally get his drink, his hand is now completely swollen.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc10_15.jpg
Hwaryun warns Khun that the one to watch out for is Ho

Now drinking their sodas, Khun asks how Hwaryun is doing with one eye, to which she answers that she'll feel better if she can also make Bam a cyclops. However, she informs Khun that she's not someone that holds a grudge to the point of wanting revenge against Bam, and that the one he should be looking out for is Hoh. Surprised at the statement, Khun asks what she's referring to which Hwaryun answers that having been watching them in the wave controller class, Hoh is someone who's come to envy Bam greatly due to Bam showing off his incredible power, and will try to do something against Bam soon enough. Hwaryun then asks for Khun to trust her good intuition, and leaves soon after. Now alone, Khun thinks over what Hwaryun said, and deduces that something about what she said has been bothering him. He then sees an agitated Hoh walking past him, and concludes that he needs to prepare for the worst.

Choosing to investigate Hoh, Khun asks his light-bearer classmate, Full Black, if he noticed anything odd about Ho; knowing that Full has been given the resting room next to him. Offering Full a small bribe, Khun is told that a day before the Hide-and-Seek test, Hoh ran out of his room ordering for someone to show themselves, but was completely calm when Full went outside to check what was up.

Khun finds the memo in Hoh's room

Full Black continues his explanation that Hoh told him later that he was just angry that someone threw trash into his room, but had also asked who Michelle Light really was. It was at this point that Khun figured that something was wrong.

Khun reveals to Lero-Ro that he had snuck into Hoh's room just moments before the start of the Hide-and-Seek test, and it was here that he found the memo in one of Hoh's drawers. Khun makes a copy of it with his Manbarondenna bag, and reveals it to Rachel, who is left confused as to who would do it. Khun answers Rachel that he doesn't know, but informs her that because she, Bam and Hoh are all on Team-B, and that the arena will be completely dark, there is bound to be something that will go down between the three of them that could prove to be dangerous. Rachel then asks if Bam knows about this, which Khun answers that he doesn't, but before he could convince her to tell him, Rachel quickly answers that this is something that Bam can never know about. The reason being that Rachel doesn't want to see Bam get hurt anymore. Unable to say anything else, Khun explains to Lero-Ro that he took the time after to try to come up with a solution that will allow for Bam and Rachel to climb the Tower without getting hurt. However, it was made difficult when he found out that he was going to be on a different team then them.

Khun makes a deal with Endorsi to make sure that Bam and Rachel don't meet

Moments after the two teams were announced, Khun meets with Endorsi, who ended up on the same team as Bam and Rachel. Khun asks if she agrees that Bam and Rachel shouldn't meet during the Hide-and-Seek test, but is answered that they don't have time to be getting entangled in other people's drama, and that she has her own business to take care of. Khun asks once more for Bam and Rachel to not meet one another, which gets Endorsi annoyed that Khun isn't dropping this. However, Khun tells her that he can help her business as well if she chooses to protect Bam, which catches Endorsi's attention. Walking away, Khun asks her to keep the promise, and that she will find out soon enough how he will be helping her out, which confuses Endorsi.

Moving to the next step of his plan, Khun is seen continuously annoying Lauroe into joining his cause when the latter was trying desperately to sleep. Khun explains that he had to convince Lauroe to help him out, and figured that he was safe recruiting Lauroe due to already having high enough scores that the Hide-and-Seek test wasn't needed for him. Khun also knew that Lauroe was someone who was also interested in seeing Bam continue to improve his wave controller talents.

Khun tricks Quant into going after Hoh for Team-B's Hide-and-Seek test

Khun then switches to the day of the Hide-and-Seek test the moment after successfully forcing Quant to fall off the bridge. Standing with Lauroe, Khun is seen explaining to the Ranker that he plans to send him back up to the bridge, which Quant finds to be nuts. Khun orders for the Ranker to stop complaining, and asks if Quant would rather be a loser of the game, which enrages the latter even further. Khun then orders for Lauroe to begin pushing him back up to the bridge and begins to walk away. However, Khun gives off a half-hearted laugh, and pretends to lie that he made a deal with someone; making Team-A lose in order to make sure that the blonde light-bearer of Team-B got eliminated. Quant is left confused by Khun's claim, and wonders if he's sabotaging his own team in order to eliminate a light-bearer rival on Team-B.

Following the end of Team-A's test, Khun reveals to Lero-Ro that he successfully tricked Quant into protecting Rachel in the test for Team-B. At this point, Khun figured that it was all going just as planned. He was actually happy that Hoh received the memo, because it meant that Hoh's failure would have given Bam a higher probability to pass the wave controller Position Test, and the memo would have served as evidence to screw Hoh over even further. Khun points out that he was waiting for the moment that Hoh would make his move to get stuck within the trap he prepared. However, something happened that he just didn't see coming. That after seeing Bam's ending in the Hide-and-Seek test, Khun realized that he, himself, hasn't grown one bit.

Khun concludes that only a Ranker could have known who would end up on Team-B

Having heard Khun's story, Lero-Ro returns to the original question as to why he believes that the memo came from a Ranker, which Khun answers that it comes down to the fact that only he and Endorsi knew about the relationship between Bam and Rachel. Khun points out that it was neither him or Endorsi since they were both trying to help the two pass the test, and that the memo had been sent to Hoh before the Hide-and-Seek test parameters were made known to everyone. That the key comes down to the fact that the writer of the memo knew who was going to be placed between both Hide-and-Seek teams. Khun figures that whoever sent out this memo knew about the test, and that this Ranker is trying to keep Bam from climbing the Tower.

Back to the fight between Yu Hansung and Ren, who now has an eel behind him, the former mentions how the latter brought the cute pet to their fight. Ren then orders for his giant eel to eat Yu Hansung, which digs, and disappears, into the ground. As the two stand by waiting for the eel to reappear, Ren states to Yu Hansung that he's always wondered how powerful the latter truly is having surprised even his commander in RED. Knowing how powerful Yu Hansung is, Ren questions why he chose to stay on the 2nd Floor rather than join one of Jahad's Ten Great Families. The ground begins to crack as Ren asks if rumors truly do get bigger when things remain out of sight.

Ren excited for a serious fight against Yu Hansung

The eel appears out of the group behind Yu Hansung, who answers that what Ren says about growing rumors is indeed the truth. As the eel is about to bite him, Yu Hansung looks towards it, and gives Ren another answer that rumors will look smaller once they get exposed. At this point, a much larger creature appears behind Yu Hansung, and eats the giant eel to protect the Ranker. Yu Hansung's creature then disappears back into the ground to leave Yu Hansung and Ren standing off against one another once more. Having seen Yu Hansung's power to control such a large creature, Ren gives off a smile, and praises Yu Hansung for not disappointing him.

Popping his face and arms out of the mouth of his wool shell, and having many tongues sticking out, Ren apologizes to Yu Hansung for not giving the Ranker enough credit. Ren reveals that he's gotten bored lately since no one's been willing to fight him after joining the Jahad Family, but is glad to have been able to meet Yu Hansung who isn't running away from him. Giving off a nasty grin, Ren figures that it's about time to finally get serious, but Yu Hansung turns him down, and asks if Ren was truly taking this game of his seriously. This statement confuses Ren, which Yu Hansung explains that he didn't mean to offend one of Jahad's Rankers, and is trying not to get in a fight here. Seeing Ren still confused, Yu Hansung explains that he knows that Ren is here to retrieve the Black March and Green April 13-month series weapons, and that he had also been tasked to eliminate the fake Jahad Princess, Anaak, from the Tower. Ren questions if Yu Hansung's words are true, which the latter answers that he can help Ren out with his objective.

Yu Hansung informs Ren that he can help achieve the latter's mission

This answer shocks Ren, who asks why Yu Hansung would choose to help him, which Yu Hansung answers that as one who is part of Evankhell's Floor, he's been tasked to help sort out the dangers that could possibly disrupt the Tower. Yu Hansung announces to Ren that he's the deep-sea fish lying in wait to gobble up said dangers, which leaves Ren silent, and unable to answer. Walking away, Yu Hansung waves goodbye, and informs Ren to give his regards to his commander. He also hopes that the commander would be nice enough to send him some coffee. Still unable to say anything back, Ren questions what Yu Hansung is trying to accomplish here.

Returning to Khun and Lero-Ro, the Ranker is seen thinking about what Khun had told him, and admits to himself that this group of Regulars has been incredibly out of the ordinary. He looks back on the group, and finds it too much of a miracle that all at once, two 13-month series weapons, two Jahad Princesses, the Irregular known as Rachel, and a boy with dangerous talents chasing after said Irregular, have all appeared within the same group of 2nd Floor Regulars. He then thinks back to what Yu Hansung told him about how the purpose of the Floor of Tests is to sort out the dangers that could be harmful to the Tower, and comes to the conclusion that there may be a way to allow for Rachel to participate in the final test. This answer gets Khun excited as Lero-Ro states that he will need a bit more time to figure this out.

Yu Hansung states that a tsunami is about to shake up the Tower

Back in his Supervisor office, Yu Hansung sits alone drinking a cup of coffee, and looks back on how excited he had gotten being able to stand toe-to-toe with a Ranker from the Jahad Family. A moment later, a fellow Ranker is heard informing Yu Hansung that it's about time to announce the results of the Position Test. Continuing to drink his coffee, Yu Hansung states to himself that coming very soon, a tsunami will occur that will shake up the Tower. He then finishes his coffee, and heads off to join with the other Rankers to announce who will go on to the final test of the 2nd Floor.

Submerged Fish Tropes

  • Backstory: Some of Bam's backstory is revealed where he was trapped in a dark prison, but Rachel was the one who got him out of it.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall:
    • Seeing Rak chibified, Bam asks if there's a new character in the series.
    • Khun mentions how a random background appeared while he, Bam and Rak are drinking soda together.
  • Breather Episode: The arc serves as a resting period between Hide-and-Seek and final 2nd Floor test. Even the battle between Yu Hansung and Ren is pretty brief.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Ren (Yuga) points out that Evankhell and Yu Hansung have been planning something big with the current group of Regulars.note
    • Khun states to Lero-Ro that whoever sent the memo to Hoh to make Bam stop climbing the Tower had to be a Ranker. The next image after Khun's deduction shows Yu Hansung.
  • The Reveal: Bam's wave controller teacher, Yuga, is actually a Ranker named Lo Po Bia Ren, and is a member of Jahad's Royal Enforcement Division (RED) who was sent down to the 2nd Floor to retrieve the Black March and Green April, and kill off the fake Jahad Princess, Anaak.
  • True Companions: Bam, Khun, and Rak are pretty much established as true friends at this point. The image where they're drinking soda as if it's cups of sake solidifies this further.
