2F - Rest

    Season 1: Ch. 26 (Chapter 26)

Mask is shown to be a red-haired girl after Bam's unknown attack broke the former's facial-mask. The attack ended up slashing Mask's face to the point of her bleeding out and screaming in pain. Meanwhile, Bam had fallen unconscious due to Mask smashing him in the head, which Rachel tries to call out to him in worry. As a result of the incident, the bonus test ends without anyone being declared the winner, and the Regulars are given 3 days of rest following the Crown Game.

Lero-Ro meets with Yu Hansung to discuss the results of the Crown Game. He mentions how he believed that Yu Hansung's goal was to immediately send the dreaded 3-man-team that destroyed Quant's survival test up to the next Floor. However, he notes how odd it is that not only did said team give up the crown, it also turned out that one of them has a connection to Bam. Lero-Ro asks if there was a different purpose to the test, which Yu Hansung explains that it's to weed out the black sleep that pose the biggest threat to the Tower; hinting to Lero-Ro that he's referring to Bam. Lero-Ro asks if Yu Hansung knows of anyone outside the Ten Great Families that can go against the Towers' rules by freely manipulating shinsu, which the latter mentions that the only one he's ever heard of pulling off something like that is the Irregular, Urek Mazino. Lero-Ro thinks back to the attack Bam performed against Mask, and deduces that it was indeed a technique that went against the rules of the Tower.

At that same time, Khun is seen at Bam's bedside, who's been unconscious for the past two days. Khun remains worried that Bam won't wake up for the next tests, which at this point, Rachel enters the room.

    Season 1: Ch. 27 (Chapter 27)

Anaak is shown in her room with the Black March given that Bam's failure to win the Crown Game means that he lost their bet. However, Black March refuses to listen to her given that the weapon doesn't like women. She tries to get Shibisu to talk to it for her, but the Black March ends up just zapping him, which results in Shibisu failing as well. Shibisu asks why Anaak wants to keep a weapon that hates her as if she's collecting the 13 Month Series, but Anaak refuses to answer. In the end, Shibisu theorizes that the Black March desires a better man, and Serena appears to visit him.

Afterwards, Anaak is greeted by the girl from the dreaded 3-man-team that tried to talk to her during the Crown Game. She tells Anaak that she knows that the Black March is owned by Yuri Jahad, but also reveals that she knows that Anaak is a "fake," which angers the latter into trying to attack her, but is easily avoided. Anaak asks the girl about Rachel given that Bam knows her, which the girl answers that even though they had to team up, she chose to avoid Rachel. Anaak asks if this means that Rachel's strong, but the girl answers that it's more that Rachel comes off as someone who isn't in the same world as them.

At that same time, Rachel and Khun watch over an unconscious Bam. Khun can tell that Rachel and Bam know each other well, which she explains of how Bam was a lonely person outside the Tower until they met, and that she became his only friend. She also points out how Bam's only goal is to be with Rachel, but that her goal to climb the Tower means he can never accomplish that. Thus, she asks for Khun to play along to make it seem like Rachel didn't appear on the 2nd Floor in order for Bam to go up the Tower without her. Khun remains confused as to why the two of them can't be together, which Rachel further explains that her overall goal is to one day see the true starry sky at the top of the Tower. Thus, she believes that such a goal is too great to continue staying with Bam.

After Rachel leaves, Rak appears showing obvious worry that Bam hasn't awoken. Khun had agreed to go along with pretending that Rachel didn't appear, and it's said that Bam doesn't wake up until two days after the next test had already started.

Bam's unknown attack injures Mask

The Fifth Round of the Crown Game comes to a shocking result as everyone is left stunned watching Bam get a strange attack on Mask. The mask gets cut in half, and reveals a female Regular with long red hair now screaming out in pain due to a cut to her face. Meanwhile Rachel checks on Bam, who has gone unconscious due to the blow to the head, and screams his name continuously trying to wake him up. It's stated that only the dreaded team from Quant's test area was remaining by the end of the Crown Game. However, they chose not to take the Crown; meaning that no one came out the winner, and left Khun to say to himself that nothing was gained by the end of all of it. The Regulars are then provided with three days of rest following the match.

Wanting to know what's going on, Lero-Ro meets with Yu Hansung in a private room for the Test Administrators. Yu Hansung points out how Lero-Ro is much taller than he imagined, which Lero-Ro answers that as someone who always stood next to someone as large as Evankhell, he would look like a tiny person. Yu Hansung next asks if Lero-Ro wants a cup of coffee, which Lero-Ro agrees to. Lero-Ro is left amazed at the amount of equipment Yu Hansung has when it comes to making coffee, and wonder if he could make a cafe latte. Yu Hansung answers that it's one of the more basics to make as he begins to prepare the coffee.

Lero-Ro and Yu Hansung discuss the results of the Crown Game

Some time passes, and Lero-Ro is given his cafe latte. Yu Hansung then gets to the focus of this meeting, and asks Lero-Ro if he encountered a problem during the Crown Game. Lero-Ro answers that he did, and figures that Yu Hansung already knows what he's referring to. Despite Yu Hansung's denial, Lero-Ro explains that the Crown Game ended up with no winner despite there still being one team active that could win it in the end, the hooded Regular's from Quant's test area. However, to Lero-Ro's surprise, the team didn't take the crown.

Yu Hansung questions how that is a problem, which Lero-Ro asks for him to be more honest since he's already heard from Quant the purpose as to why Yu Hansung called for a Crown Game to happen. To send the three Regulars that destroyed Quant's test area to the next floor as soon as possible. Lero-Ro points out once more that the plan failed due to the team not taking the crown in the end, and also mentions how one of the three turned out to be an acquaintance of a Regular from their survival test (referring to Bam). He then informs Yu Hansung that there's a rule that acquaintances can't take the same test at once, and yet Yu Hansung told him to start the Crown Game anyway.

Yu Hansung explains to Lero-Ro the true purpose of the Floor of Tests

Having heard Lero-Ro's explanation, Yu Hansung asks if he knows the reason of why Regulars are brought to Evankhell's Floor of Test. He also asks Lero-Ro if he knows the reason as to why they gather the Regulars to test them here. Lero-Ro answers that it's to check if the Regulars are qualified to climb the Tower, but Yu Hansung answers that the true purpose of the Floor of Tests is to evaluate those that have dangerous powers. He explains to Lero-Ro that Regulars come into the Tower to fulfill what they most desire, but points out how there may end up being someone who desires to cause harm to the world around them.

Yu Hansung states that the Floor of Test's main purpose is not to find outstanding candidates, but to weed out the black sheep Regulars amongst the crowd so such a case wouldn't happen. The next question Yu Hansung asks if Lero-Ro finally understands now, which Lero-Ro answers that he doesn't understand the intention behind his words. Yu Hansung then asks who he believes to be the most dangerous amongst the current group of Regulars, and points out that the person he believes to be the most dangerous ended up losing the Crown Game. This question leaves Lero-Ro stunned, who finishes his coffee, thanks Yu Hansung for the information, and begins to leave the room. Before exiting however, Lero-Ro asks Yu Hansung if he's ever seen someone not with the Great Family, or without the help from an Administrator, able to perform shinsu freely.

Lero-Ro deduces that Bam's shinsu attack doesn't follow the rules of the Tower

Yu Hansung answers that he hasn't, but points out that he's heard rumors of one who had done so; the Irregular known as Urek Mazino. Lero-Ro accepts the answer, and closes the door behind him; leaving Yu Hansung behind saying to himself that unlike Quant, Lero-Ro is difficult to handle.

Walking down the hallway, Lero-Ro thinks back to the final skirmish in the Crown Game, and admits that he's never seen that before. He pictures Bam, in a last ditch effort, screaming out before the masked Regular, which rips off the right side of the mask, and causes a major cut to occur that destroys Mask's right eye. Lero-Ro deduces that what happened wasn't an occurrence of shinsu control, but the shinsu attacking Mask of its on will. Lero-Ro concludes that even though the event wasn't that powerful, it was an attack that violates the rules of the Tower, and is left wondering if Bam will truly awaken one day.

Within a resting room, Bam, having been unconscious the past two days, is seen resting on a bed with a bandage covering the top of his head where he received the blow from Mask. Khun remains at his side waiting for him to wake up, and begins to worry that Bam won't be able to wake up for the tests that will be starting the next day. Hearing a knock on the door, Khun watches Rachel enter the room, and introduces herself to him.

    Attempting to Control Black March

Anaak orders Shibisu to convince the woman hating Black March to listen to her

In another resting room, Anaak, having won the Black March due to Bam's failure to win the Crown Game, is seen pointing the weapon towards Shibisu. Shibisu questions what Anaak is aiming for breaking into his room, which Anaak answers that she's got a favor to ask him. Handing the Black March over to Shibisu, Anaak explains the situation that the weapon refuses to listen to her due to being a woman. She order for Shibisu to tell the Black March to listen to her, which confuses him. Shibisu informs her that he's never done something like this, but tries anyway. Holding the Black March before him, Shibisu asks the weapon for a second to talk, but ends up receiving a massive shock that causes him to fall to the ground in pain. Anaak is left questioning why Black March is angry with him, and comes to the conclusion that Shibisu is perhaps a girl. However, Shibisu quickly denies it, and tries to talk to Black March once more; receiving yet another massive shock. Smoke is shown coming off Shibisu, who states that he doesn't want to die, and gives up trying. Sitting back up, Shibisu asks Anaak why she's trying to control a weapon she hates so much despite already having the Green April. Anaak answers that she has a reason for collecting the weapons of the 13-month series, but doesn't wish to tell him.

Serena arrives at Shibisu's room to share a drink with him

Handing the Black March back to Anaak, Shibisu informs her that the weapon is probably wishing for a better man to control it, which Anaak answers that she thought Shibisu would be good enough. Shibisu is happy to find Anaak thinks so much of him, but Anaak walks away stating that she was wrong to believe so, which puts Shibisu in a down mood.

Before Anaak could leave, they are greeted by Serena, who wishes to share a drink with sweatsuit. Anaak points out that Shibisu is at least good enough to have a woman come visit him during the night, which Shibisu answers that Serena doesn't count due to being an old lady. The two of them fight each other over the nicknames they gave one another as Anaak walks out of the room.

Walking down the hallway, Anaak is greeted by the Regular girl who fought with red needles in the Crown Game; no longer wearing a robe over her yellow clothes. She tries to greet Anaak, but ends up completely ignored as Anaak continues walking. She then informs Anaak that the true owner of the Black March is the Ranker Jahad Princess known as Ha Yuri. That Yuri established herself as a prodigy fisherman during her climb of the Tower as the only one in the past five centuries to have a 13-month series weapon passed down to a Jahad Princess. She also points out that Yuri is feared by the younger Rankers due to her vicious temper.

Anaak being called a fake by the Regular who ticked her off in the Crown Game

Still being ignored, the yellow dressed Regular orders for Anaak not to get cocky, and informs Anaak that she knows of the green lizard's identity as a fake. This angers Anaak, who tries to punch the yellow dressed Regular. However, her strike is blocked easily as the yellow dressed Regular begins to walk in the opposite direction. She leaves off stating to Anaak that she warned her, and to not blame her if something was to happen to Anaak down the line. However, Anaak, calling the opposing woman spooky eyes, asks for her to answer one question.

The yellow dressed Regular turns around in anger at the nickname, which Anaak then asks about the importance of Rachel on her team given that Bam seemed to know her. The yellow dressed Regular answers that she doesn't know, and that it was just her intuition during Quant's survival test telling her that she was better off teaming up with Rachel rather than fight her. Anaak questions if it was because Rachel came off strong to her, which the yellow dressed Regular answers that despite being able to tell that the huge one in their 3-person-team was powerful, there's something different about what she sees in Rachel. A feeling as if Rachel is someone who didn't come from the world they exist in.

    Rachel's Goal

Rachel and Khun watch over Bam as he recovers from the injury Mask gave him

Returning to Bam's resting room, Khun watches as Rachel checks on Bam's head. Khun asks how well she knows Bam, which she answers that they were together before entering the Tower. Khun finds it amazing that the two of them were able to get into the same test, which causes Rachel to state that Bam was a lonely boy outside the Tower. Rachel informs Khun that she was his only friend, and begged for her not to go when Rachel informed him that she was going to start climbing the Tower. She tells Khun of the moment she left him behind at the Tower gate, and the thought that she was never going to see him again after that. However, she was stunned to see him in the Crown Game, and made the decision not to fight Bam for the crown, but to help him come out the winner. However, she points out that her teammates turned out to be a lot more helpful than her.

Seeing food on a nearby table, Rachel asks for a bite, which Khun answers to help herself to it. Eating a banana, Rachel states that she feels bad, because her being there in the Crown Game ended up with Bam getting injured, and informs Khun that her very existence will keep Bam from climbing the Tower. That just being with Rachel is enough of a desire for Bam to not want to climb the Tower, and is fine with just staying put as long as Rachel is always with him. Rachel states that she wishes to climb the Tower, and asks for Khun to not tell Bam about her being here on the Floor of Tests. Khun asks if what Rachel is referring to is to tell Bam that what he saw in the Crown Game wasn't actually her, which Rachel answers to be correct. Looking down at the unconscious Bam, Khun tells Rachel that its Bam's desire to want to always be together with her, and questions why they both can't just stay put. Rachel answers Khun by telling him of the legend regarding the top of the Tower.

Rachel's desire to see the true starry night sky at the top of the Tower

Exiting Bam's room, Khun spots Rak peeking around a corner at him, and asks what the alligator is doing. Beginning to sweat, Rak tries to deny that he was worried about the state of the black turtle on their team, but is told by Khun to enter the room if he's so worried about Bam. Rak continues to try to deny it, as Khun thinks back to what Rachel told him regarding the legend.

Reentering Bam's room, Khun asks if what Rachel is referring to is the legend where you can see a real sky at the top of the Tower. Rachel answers that to be correct, and that having heard the legend when she was young, tells Khun that it's been her dream to view a starry night of the real sky. That after closing her eyes, she imagines herself on a platform at the top of the Tower looking up at the numerous stars in the pitch black sky above. She tells Khun that just the thought of that image alone is enough to make her heart pound, and that it's become her goal to climb the Tower to see that image become reality. Looking down at Bam again, Rachel admits that she really wants to be with Bam, which is why she gave up on the Crown Game. However, the thought of the night sky at the top of the Tower is just too great to truly stay put with Bam.

At this point, they're interrupted by Rak, who picks up Bam wondering if the turtle is dead. Khun points out how the alligator is going against his previous statements about not being worried about Bam as he watches Rak ordering for Bam to open his eyes. Khun continues to look down at the unconscious Bam, and apologizes; having decided to not tell the truth about Rachel being amongst them. Rak then looks over at the table, and gets angry that all the food had already been eaten; which disappoints Khun, who assumes that Rak is only here because he wanted to eat.

Bam is eventually able to wake up. However, it took him an additional three days to finally do so. Meaning that it took him two extra days to regain consciousness after the next tests have already begun.
