Arc 1 | Return to the main Tower of God recap page. | Arc 3

2F - Evankhell's Hell

    Season 1: Ch. 5 (Chapter 5)

Bam flashes back to a moment where he's being taught by Rachel, which he learns about "fighting." He remains disinterested in hurting others, but admits that he would choose to fight if something bad was to happen to Rachel. In the present, Bam wakes up having arrived at a grassy testing area of the 2nd Floor's Floor of Tests moments after completing Headon's test. Evankhell's floating fortress can be seen high above as an announcement is made that a survival game amongst the 400 Regulars who've arrived on the 2nd Floor will now take place to kill each other until the numbers have been reduced to 200.

Confused as to what's going on, Bam starts running for his life while evading enemies trying to kill him. His path is eventually blocked by a massive Regular, and prepares himself to fight it using Black March. At that same time, a blue-haired Regular is seen using his special bag to block the sword attacks of a large multi-armed Regular, which the former then kills the latter with a hidden knife. The disappointed blue-haired Regular walks on wondering if there's anyone worth climbing the Tower with.

    Season 1: Ch. 6 (Chapter 6)

At a high rocky location of the grassy testing area, a Regular is seen using a rifle to snipe others during the survival game. A large humanoid crocodile Regular wielding a spear then forces the rifle-using Regular out of the way in order for the former to view the surrounding area for any potential enemies to hunt. He spots many Regulars worth hunting, such as taking note of a lizard-girl with a hook-weapon that the humanoid crocodile can tell that he can sense something from the weapon. Following that is a certain something that catches the humanoid crocodile's attention. At that same time, Bam remains ready to fight the massive Regular before him. However, he's stopped by the arrival of the blue-haired Regular, who gives Bam a bit of advice that the massive Regular is just a harmless member of the Da-an Tribe who won't attack them.

After the massive Regular leaves, the blue-haired Regular remains confused as to how Bam doesn't know about the Tower's Da-an Tribe, which Bam admits that it's hard to explain. As the blue-haired Regular's about to move on, they're both greeted by the arrival of the humanoid crocodile. Introducing himself as Rak Wraithraiser, the humanoid crocodile explains that he's interested in hunting Bam, which leaves the blue-haired Regular confused as to why Rak is interested in hunting a weak looking boy who doesn't appear special in any way. Rak explains that it's actually Bam's weapon that he wants to fight, but he's suddenly wacked by the blue-haired Regular, who runs away with Bam. Enraged, Rak calls the two of them "turtles," and begins to hunt Bam and the blue-haired Regular.

    Season 1: Ch. 7 (Chapter 7)

An encounter between a swordsman Regular, the lizard-girl with a hook-weapon, and a normal-looking boy Regular in a purple jumpsuit occurs on the grassy testing area. The swordsman and the lizard-girl battle it out while the boy in the purple jumpsuit gets stuck in the middle of it having to avoid their attacks. Seeing the swordsman show off powerful slashing abilities, and the lizard-girl being able to extend her hook-weapon for powerful ranged attacks, the purple jumpsuit boy is shocked to see that they're way out of his league.

Meanwhile, Bam and the blue-haired Regular remain in hiding while Rak's hunting them. The blue-haired Regular questions why Rak's after Bam, which Bam answers that it's his weapon that Rak is after. Shocked to see that Bam has the Black March of the 13 Month Weapon series, the blue-haired Regular questions how Bam got his hands on a personal treasure of the Tower King, Jahad, who only gives the 13 Month weapons to his chosen daughters. Baam refuses to answer not wanting to reveal that he's borrowing it from Yuri, which the blue-haired Regular starts to show interest given that a weak looking person somehow got his hands on the Black March. As a result, the blue-haired Regular deems Baam to be useful, and introduces himself as Khun Aguero Agnes, which Bam introduces himself in return. Khun announces that he's decided to go up the Tower with Bam under the belief that it will be fun, much to the latter's confusion. As Khun thinks over how Bam doesn't appear to know yet what it means to have the Black March, Rak is heard getting annoyed ordering for the two of them to come out of hiding already.

At that same time, the purple jumpsuit Regular tries to tell the swordsman and lizard-girl that he's leaving, but they go about ignoring him since they're still engaged in their duel.

    Season 1: Ch. 8 (Chapter 8)

Rak continues to call out to Bam and Khun for a fight only for the first test to come to an end since the number of Regulars have been reduced to 200. Another announcement is then made where those that have survived must now team up with three other members, and that the three of them must be touching once the timer runs out. However, they only have 5 minutes to form a team, much to everyone's shock. Khun notices the issue right away that the 5 minute time limit means that they will only have the chance to team up with those nearby. Meaning that him and Bam have to somehow team up with Rak.

Meanwhile, the purple jumpsuit Regular named Shibisu sees an opportunity to team up with the swordsman and lizard-girl monsters. He tries to introduce himself to them, but the swordsman named Hatz and lizard-girl named Anaak agree to stop fighting and go looking for a 3rd member while Shibisu's left hanging. At that same time, Bam and Khun agree that they must team up with Rak. Khun steps before Rak asking for a truce, but Rak rejects it claiming that a hunter will never team up with prey. Thus, still desiring to fight. Khun is prepared to fight Rak only for Bam to step forward wanting to know what Rak hunting him means. Rak answers that hunting powerful foes, such as what he senses in Bam's weapon, will make him stronger, which Bam agrees to let Rak hunt him. Rak gets excited, but Bam instead chooses to throw away the Black March and orders Rak to go through with hunting him, much to Rak's confusion.

The enraged Rak argues back and forth with Bam to use the Black March, which Khun sees what Bam's going for. To buy time until the 5 minutes are up. Khun tries to negotiate once more that there's stronger foes for Rak to fight if they climb up the Tower together, but Rak rejects it, and proceeds to fight the foes before him aiming to make Bam use the Black March. Bam and Khun proceed to dodge Rak's spear attacks as time winds down. Knowing that they just have to be touching one another in the end, Khun orders Bam to run for Rak. In the final second, Bam and Khun manage to grab hold of Rak. An announcement is then made that the new 3-man teams will now be sent to the next Floor of Tests area, much to Rak's shock that Bam and Khun outplayed him.

Bam's memory of the days when Rachel was his teacher

Thinking back to his time with Rachel. Bam remembers of how she had taught him everything from reading, hearing, and even feeling everything around him. During one of her teaching sessions, Bam asks Rachel what a fight is, which she answers to be two people being violent towards one another through physical or verbal fighting; possibly out of hatred. Bam states that he knows that, but wants to know why people hate each other to the point of having to fight. He mentions to Rachel how he's never gotten to the point of hating her, which prompts Rachel to ask how Bam would feel if someone was to hurt her. Bam answers that he would get angry, which Rachel then asks if he would fight for her sake. Looking at Rachel, answers that he would. Rachel thanks him, and pats his head as a reward, as Bam sees her as a genius. Thinking back to this memory, Bam remembers how everything he has done so far has been for her.

Presently, Bam is seen lying on a grass field. Regaining consciousness, Bam hears a voice coming from a speaker overhead welcoming all Regulars to Evankhell's 2nd Floor, which surprises Bam. Looking around, and seeing how bright the level is, Bam questions if he's still in the Tower. The one over the speaker reveals that the 2nd level is known as the Floor of, which was established to give Regulars who passed the 1st Floor a final test to see if they are qualified to climb the Tower.

Bam arrives at the 2nd Floor

Hearing the announcement, Bam remembers back to what he heard from Headon about one needs to pass a test if they wish to climb to the next Floor, which Bam assumes to be what speaker is referring to. The speaker then states that he will explain the details later, and that the test is going to begin. Despite being a bit irritated that he has to suddenly get moving again, Bam gets up with the determination to reach the 3rd Floor. The speaker begins to announce the rules of the test. The main rule being that 400 Regulars have arrived on the 2nd Floor, and that the test will end after being narrowed down to 200. The speaker also states that Regulars are allowed to use any means necessary to reach that number, and announces that the test has now officially begun; leaving Bam standing around confused about the purpose of this test.

Thinking over the words that the speaker mentioned in the announcement, Bam begins to get a bad feeling. He hears a scream in the distance, and is able to get a brief smell of blood flowing through the wind. The grass near him begins to sway, as Bam senses the danger, and figures that his best option at the moment was to run. A large, orange-skinned, Regular with a sword appears at the location Bam ran from, and attempts to chase after the boy. He orders for Bam to stop claiming that continuing to run will just exhaust him quicker, and manages to catch up to him.

Bam escapes death to an orange-skinned Regular at start of the survival test

The orange-skinned Regular swings his massive sword to kill Bam, but is able to dodge at the last second. Bam begins to run off again, but turns around when he hears a scream. He watches as the orange-skinned Regular falls to the ground with arrows now in its body; killed by an archer Regular on a nearby rock. The archer Regular next aims his bow towards Bam, but ends up getting killed himself taking a shot through the head from an unknown location. Bam continues to run, and comes to the conclusion that the test is 400 people killing each other until it reaches 200. He realizes that, no matter what, he has to be one of the 200 survivors, but is greeted by a giant Regular with multiple eyes. Bam readies the Black March; knowing that he will need to fight to survive the test.

At another location on the 2nd Floor, a Regular with white hair, and a blue highlight, is seen standing before a giant four armed red Regular. The white haired Regular asks why his opponent is trying to kill him considering that he has done nothing wrong, which the red Regular answers that killing each other is the point of the test, and the survivors will be declared the winner. The white haired Regular finds the answer to be on the level of a simpleton, which angers the red Regular. Attempting to kill, the red Regular swings one of his swords at the white haired Regular, but has his strike blocked by a bag that the white haired Regular was holding.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_04.jpg
A white-haired Regular hoping to find a worthy ally

The red Regular asks what's in the bag, but gets ignored. The white haired Regular instead reveals his plan that he knew someone would start killing off 200 Regulars to pass the test, and that his plan would be to make a team consisting of those that were being hunted. He states that the Tower doesn't have any rules that can contain him, and that he will make up his own rules to dominate those around him. Claiming that his oppoent isn't someone worth dominating, the white haired Regular pulls out a knife from his bag, and stabs the red Regular in the chest, which leads to his death. Walking away in disappointment, the white haired Regular asks himself if there's anyone worthy enough to climb the Tower with him.

At a high location, a sharp-toothed Regular with a sniper rifle continues to kill off the Regulars below him. The sharp-toothed Regular finds it funny how stupid the Regulars are for killing each other when they know that he's been picking them off one-by-one, and that he's lucky to have been summoned to the 2nd Floor near a hill could take advantage of. Looking around for more targets, the sharp-toothed Regular has his view blocked by an alligator humanoid wielding a spear. He orders the alligator to find his own spot, but is grabbed, has his rifle taken, and thrown to the side.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_05.jpg
The hunter and the sniper Regulars

Getting back up, the sharp-toothed Regular asks what he's looking at, which the alligator Regular replies that this place is for hunters, and that the sharp-toothed Regular should get lost. Confused at the alligator's words, the sharp-toothed Regular complains that the alligator took his spot, and to not touch his gun, which the alligator believes to be a chocolate bar. The alligator then drops the gun off the cliff, which the sharp-toothed Regular complains that he paid a lot for that gun. Chirping like a bird, the alligator taunts the sharp-toothed Regular asking if he wants to fight, but watches as the sharp-toothed Regular runs away in fear; yelling that he will get the alligator back one day.

Standing at the edge of the cliff, the alligator Regular looks around wondering if there's any turtles (a term the alligator uses when he refers to people) worth hunting. He spots several worthy Regular prey: a boy swordsman, a boy wrapped in a blanket, a boy with a red horn, and the white-haired boy that was seen earlier. He also spots a green lizard girl Regular that he feels a powerful presence from. The alligator realizes that the power is coming from the green hook weapon that is in her possession, and figures that she would be a hard one to hunt. However, the alligator begins to sense a similar power from a weapon elsewhere and spots Bam wielding the Black March in front of the multiple-eyed giant Regular.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_06.jpg
Bam meets the white-haired Regular

Bam stands before the multi-eyed giant wondering how he should go about fighting the Regular. Figuring that the giant hasn't seen him yet, Bam deduces that if he stabs it now, he can claim victory, but is ordered to stop by another nearby Regular. Looking in the direction of the voice, Bam sees the white-haired Regular walking towards him, who points out that Bam's loose posture won't win him any fights. Bam is confused about the person talking to him, who is then informed by the white-haired Regular that the creature of the poly-eyed race he was about to attack are a mild bunch that don't attack people. Realizing he isn't in danger anymore, Bam puts the Black March away.

Sitting down on a nearby rock, Bam thanks the white-haired Regular for stopping him, which he accepts. Confused as to how Bam doesn't know about the existence of the mild poly-eyed race, the white-haired Regular asks where Bam came from. Thinking back to what Princess Yuri told him about how Irregular beings, such as himself, are symbols of fear in the Tower, Bam realizes that he can't tell the truth. Bam answers the white-haired Regular that it's a hard story to tell, but is told that he doesn't need to tell it. However, the white-haired Regular thinks to himself that he's able to see Bam as the truthful type that can't truly tell a lie.

Bam and white-hair get attacked by the alligator Regular, Rak Wraithraiser

Getting up, the white-haired Regular offers his goodbye, and hopes to see Bam survive the test. Bam thanks him for the help, but before the two could part ways, the white-haired Regular asks if Bam also has a pet. Bam asks what he means, which the white-haired Regular points out that a giant alligator has appeared before them. Looking down at Bam and the white-haired Regular, the alligator points out that he is the hunter, Rak Wraithraiser. The white-haired Regular finds it fascinating that an alligator can talk, and asks Bam how much it cost him to purchase it. Rak orders the white-haired turtle to bug off as the alligator is only interested in the black turtle that's with him. Bam and the white-haired Regular question why the alligator is after them, but Rak announces that it's hunting time. Rak orders the white-haired turtle to back off once more; claiming the black turtle to be his prey. The white-haired Regular finally agrees stating that he has no business here, and lets Rak pass him. However, he tries to put the pieces together in his head as to why the alligator is so obsessed over a boy that shows nothing special. He looks over at Bam seeing how he's so fragile that he could easily die at any moment, and admits to himself that it's become a pain to think about.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_08.jpg
Rak pointing out that he wishes to fight the sword in Bam's possession

As Rak approaches, Bam pulls out the Black March begging the alligator to stop. Bam next tries to reason with Rak by stating that he's not something worth hunting as he has no meat on him, and isn't very tasty. However, Rak points out that the answer is the sword. Rak answers Bam that what the alligator truly wants to fight is the power he felt from the Black March, but is interrupted when the white-haired Regular hits him across the face with his bag. He orders for Bam to escape as the two begin to run off in a direction away from Rak. However, the alligator gets enraged, and begins to chase after Bam and the white-haired Regular; ordering the two turtles to stop.

At another location of the 2nd Floor, the swordsman Regular is greeted by the green lizard girl Regular. The two clash swords to check each other's strength, but have their fight interrupted by the arrival of a normal Regular boy wearing a purple jumpsuit. The lizard girl smiles, and states that this situation has suddenly gotten fun for her. She swings her green sword in the direction of the two Regulars, who are both able to dodge the strike. She then orders the both of them to continue running as she tries to cut them once more. The swordsman then uses a sword technique that throws his sword into the air, which confuses the green lizard.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_09.jpg
The swordsman, the green lizard, and the purple jumpsuit Regulars

She charges at the swordsman, but is surprised to find him using his sword's sheath for a surprise strike that knocks her back. The swordsman then claims that he will only run away if he considers the enemy stronger than him, which causes the green lizard to giggle in excitement. Nearby, the Regular boy in the purple jumpsuit had gotten out of the skirmish, and had been watching the two fight from the sideline. Seeing that the two are extremely strong fighters, the boy realizes that he is completely out of their league.

Returning to Bam's fight, Rak can be heard yelling for the two turtles to come out of hiding, and stop being cowards. Bam and the white-haired Regular are seen hiding behind a nearby rock as the latter asks what the alligator chose to chase after the former. Bam answers that Rak appears to be after the sword in his possession, which the white-haired Regular is stunned to realize that he is looking at the Black March. Bam is amazed to find that the white-haired Regular knows about the sword. However, the white-haired Regular grabs Bam's hand, and orders for Bam to tell him where he got the sword from.

Despite Bam's confusion, the white-haired Regular explains that the Black March is one of several personal treasures that the Tower's King Jahad had passed down to his daughters, and is confused as to how it ended up in the hands of a newcomer to the Tower. The white-haired Regular asks who Bam is, but Bam struggles to answer. The white-haired Regular chooses to let it go, but finds it annoying that he's getting nothing for saving Bam's life from Rak.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_10.jpg
Khun Aguero Agnes finally introduces himself to Bam

Thinking over the situation, the white-haired Regular is left confused at the sight of a weak boy that doesn't know anything about the Tower, yet somehow got his hands on the Black March. The white-haired Regular comes to the conclusion that his initial assumption of Bam being an ordinary Regular was wrong; that Bam is actually the most unusual of the group here, and is definitely useful to him. He chooses to change his tactic in order to keep Bam close by. Sticking out his hand, the white-haired Regular introduces himself as Khun Aguero Agnes, and asks for Bam’s name in return. Bam states himself as his 25th title, which Khun finds to be a unique name. Khun points out how it's natural for Bam to feel untrustworthy to him considering that they are currently taking part in a test to fight, and survive, until the end of the test. However, he states that he doesn't care about such rules, and has decided to rise up the Tower with Bam. Confused at the statement, Bam points out to Khun how he's not good at fighting, and doesn't know anything useful, to be of much help to him. However, Khun answers that he's fine with it, and that just being around Bam will be a fun experience. The two hear Rak yelling in the distance still struggling to locate them, which Bam admits that the alligator may be more fun than him. Khun agrees as well, and finds Rak to be talented, but also appears to be a tad stupid. Looking back at Bam, Khun deduces that the boy hasn't realized yet what it means to have hold of the Black March within the Tower. He also wonders if Rak is after Bam, because the alligator also knows about the Black March. However, upon hearing Rak yell constantly for the two turtles to finally come out of hiding, he figures that the alligator probably doesn't.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_11.jpg
The swordfight continues as the purple jumpsuit Regular stands by

Meanwhile, the fight between the swordsman and the green lizard girl continues as the boy in the purple jumpsuit informs them that he will be leaving. However, the two of them ignore his statement and continue fighting. He half-heartedly attempts to state that he is living once more, but continues to get ignored.

Bam and Khun continue to hear Rak yelling out to them to come out and fight him. The two peak around the rock they've been hiding behind, and question if the alligator has gone mad. Khun looks to his pocket item that is revealed to also serve as a timer, and figures that the test is almost over. A moment later, a loud sound is heard as all the remaining Regulars look towards the loudspeaker. The person talking on the other side of it asks for everyone to stay where they are as the first part of the test has officially ended. The one on the speaker first states that any Regulars still fighting will be eliminated right away, which causes the swordsman and green lizard girl Regulars to finally stop fighting, much to their annoyance. The boy in the purple jumpsuit is happy to have survived until the end as the speaker congratulates the 200 Regulars who made it this far. However, the speaker reveals that there will be another test given right away.

     2nd Floor Test - Form a 3-Man Team

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_12.jpg
The next test, team up with your former enemy within five minutes

The Regulars are left disappointed that its not over yet, but the speaker reassures him that this next test is simple; to find a group of teammates. The rule given is that there are 200 Regulars remaining, and that one must find two other Regulars to make a team of three. Doing so will allow the three of them to pass the test. The speaker also adds that they only have five minutes to make the team; which shocks the remaining Regulars. Khun, as well as the Regular in the purple jumpsuit, look around, and deduce that since their time limit is short, they are forced to make a team with the ones closest to them. The purple jumpsuit Regular ends up scared for his life realizing that he will have to team up with the swordsman and green lizard monsters he just saw fighting to the death. Meanwhile, Bam and Khun are shocked to find out that they are going to have to befriend the alligator hunting them if they are going to pass the test. The one on the loudspeaker also explains that people who don't get enough teammates when time is up will be eliminated, and that the three teammates have to all be touching one another the moment the timer reaches zero. The speaker wishes them luck, and goes silent like before. Thinking over the new situation, Khun is left annoyed to realize that the tests for passing to the next Floor are no joke. He deduces that they've been given a test required to partner up with those nearby, but also happen to be the same people that they were just fighting with a minute ago to reduce the number of Regulars down to 200. Khun comes to the conclusion that the point of this test is to make your former enemy your ally. Looking down at his bag, Khun points out that there is exactly three people here, and that he has no choice but to create a team with the alligator.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_13.jpg
Introducing themselves, Hatz and Anaak join forces as Shibisu tries to join

At the purple jumpsuit Regular's location, revealed to be named Shibisu, the boy is left stunned looking upon the swordsman and green lizard Regulars that he quickly has to form a team with. Scared for his life, Shibisu wonders if five minutes is enough time to go looking for Regulars, but finds it impossible, and sees a possible advantage if he's somehow able to gain the firepower of the two monster fighters before him.

Stepping forward to take the initiative, Shibisu asks for the swordsman and green lizard girl to listen to him, but is shocked to find the two already shaking hands and forming a truce. They both give their names, the swordsman being Hatz, and the green lizard girl being Anaak, as Shibisu steps forward believing that he should join them as well. However, the two ignore Shibisu and begin walking in another direction to find a strong third teammate; leaving Shibisu behind utterly confused, and trying to convince the world around him that he is a real person.

Back to Bam's side, Khun asks if teaming up with Rak would be the best option, which Bam figures that its the only option they have given the five minute time limit. Khun agrees that they don't have any other choice, and calls out to the alligator, who is still aggressive towards the two.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_14.jpg
Bam and Khun confront Rak in order to become a team

Khun asks Rak for a time out, which stops Rak from moving towards him, and states that he's offering the alligator a suggestion. Khun explains the situation to him, and that they are lucky enough to already have three people in the area to team up with to complete the test. However, Rak gives off a laugh and states that the people before him are just his prey. The alligator states that a hunter never teams up with its prey, which annoys Khun, and announces to Rak that he will kill him in one minute so that he and Bam can use the time remaining to look for a third teammate.

Khun and Rak square off ready to fight one another, but are ordered by Bam to stop fighting. Bam steps before Rak, and asks what the alligator means by needing to hunt him. Rak answers that the hunt is what makes him stronger, and that fighting rivals who he deems to be powerful will help him increase his strength. Rak also states that he felt the power within the black weapon that Bam holds, and has deemed Bam with the weapon to be one worthy of the hunt to help himself get stronger. Having heard Rak's story, Bam accepts the alligator's desire, and asks to continue the hunt. Khun is left confused at Bam's statement while Rak yells in excitement that he will get to fight him without interruption. However, the alligator becomes confused when Bam drops the Black March, opens his arms in surrender, and orders for Rak to hunt him. Looking at Bam's stance, Khun is left stunned in amazement seeing Bam's will to accept death without any struggle. This sight angers Rak, who orders for Bam to pick his weapon back up. However, Bam states that this is his method for the fight. Rak continuously orders for Bam to pick the Black March back up, but is refused by Bam each time.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_15.jpg
Bam and Khun vs. Rak

Precious seconds go by, and the timelimit has dropped to around two minutes remaining. Rak is left exhausted trying to convince Bam to pick the weapon back up, and becomes enraged. Khun deduces that wasting time is better for them without resulting in a fight that would automatically eliminate them, and decides to go along with it. He steps before Rak, and asks the alligator if his desire is to climb the Tower to search for stronger prey. Rak answers that it's true, which Khun then asks why it's not better for him to make the team now in order to search for stronger prey later. Khun also asks if Rak doesn't see climbing the Tower more important than hunting Bam, but the question angers Rak as he states once more that he's only here to hunt. Not understanding, Rak's logic, Khun figures that the alligator has gone mad. Rak throws his spear towards Khun, which he blocks with his bag, and the alligator claims to him that anywhere he meets a strong enemy will be his hunting ground. Holding up his spear to strike again, Rak states that he will make Bam hold the weapon himself, but has his strike blocked by Khun's bag once more. The timer has now dropped below one minute, and Khun figures that he only has one choice left in order to make sure that Bam and him are touching the alligator when the timer reaches zero. Khun figures that you don't necessarily have to befriend others before choosing to make the team, and that as long as three people are touching one another, they will be considered a team that can pass the test.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc02_16.jpg
Bam and Khun grabbing Rak at the last second to pass the test

Calling out to Bam, Khun gives the order that their only choice left is to catch Rak, which he agrees with. Rak swings down his spear once more, but misses both Khun and Bam. Thirty seconds remain, and Khun realizes that it's a difficult task to get up close to Rak. He continues to dodge the spear swings, while also attempting to protect Bam, as the timer drops to twenty seconds. Five more seconds pass, and Rak manages to get one of his spear strikes through aiming directly for Bam. However, Khun manages to throw his knife at the spear to change its trajectory from hitting Bam. The timer is now down to ten seconds as Bam watches in fear the spear land right next to him. Khun calls out to him saying that nows their chance to go for Rak as the two use the last seconds to approach the alligator. The timer strikes zero, and both manage to grab hold of Rak.

A usual loud sound is heard over the loudspeaker as it is announced that the 2nd test has come to an end. Bam and Khun are happy to have made it as the speaker states for the Regulars to hold on to their teammates for awhile. The speaker also adds that as these new 3-man-teams, they will be send to the next test spot of Evankhell's Floor of Tests. Rak is left stunned in defeat, and yells for the turtles to get off him.

Evankhell's Hell Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Before the Befriending the Enemy moment, Rak basically served as this for the Bam and Khun team.
  • Anyone Can Die: 200 Regulars in the first test. Only a few of them, such as the orange-skin, the archer, and the red four-arm, Regulars are seen getting killed.
  • Deadly Game: The purpose of the first test is a free-for-all battleground where 400 Regulars kill each other off until only 200 are left remaining.
  • Foreshadowing: An image shows Khun looking down at his bag deducing that he has three people here to form a team. You're led to believe that he was referring to himself, Bam and Rak.note
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Several other recurring Regulars make brief appearances here that haven't been properly introduced yet. These people being Lauroe, Aleksai, and Hoh.
    • Levin, the sharp-toothed sniper Regular that chose to run away from Rak, also goes unintroduced.
