- And Then John Was a Zombie: This trope describes someone becoming a thing which they hate or have been hunting. This happens to Origami when she become a Spirit simply to hunt spirits and eventually herself.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: Kurumi as she sends Shido 5 years into the past:Kurumi: Borrowing the phrase you people say... Now, let’s begin our date!
- Go Mad from the Revelation: Origami convinces Kurumi to send her back 5 years and goes on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge toward Phantom to avert her parents' deaths... only to realize that her own rampage is what actually got them killed. She returns to the present as an Inverse Spirit and begins mindlessly destroying the city.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Origami gets Kurumi to use her 12th Bullet Yud Bet so she can stop Phantom from killing her parents 5 years ago... only to learn that she's the one who accidentally killed them and slip into her Inverse form from the resulting despair. When Inverse Origami starts destroying the present-day city, Kurumi uses Yud Bet on Shido to send him back to the same time, figure out what causes Origami's Inversion, and prevent it.
- Uncertain Doom: Inverse Origami shoots down the Fraxinus, but the crew’s survival is left ambiguous before Kurumi arrives to send Shido to the past.
