The Drunk Slut
Clay has waited all night in the hospital to speak to Skye. He asks a nurse to see 'Hannah Baker' by accident. We see Hannah's ghost is already sat with Clay. Skye decides that her and Clay can't be together as they have their own issues they need to deal with independently.
The trial continues with Jessica taking the stand. We are let into more of the friendship between Jessica-Alex-Hannah. When Alex and Jessica began dating, Jessica had wanted to be more sensitive about it as she knew it would change the group dynamic drastically. She says she didn't want to break any 'girl codes' or let anyone feel awkward. However, Hannah is shown to have grown jealous and seems to purposely isolate herself. Jessica doesn't tell the truth about Bryce on the stand but does show the another harassing message left to her. The picture is of a drunk Jessica in class with the words, "Who would believe a drunk slut?" written on it. She shows this as evidence of the bullying culture at the school. What Jessica doesn't reveal is that Hannah confronted her about the rape and Jessica lashed out. This turns out to be the real reason they broke friends and Jessica has felt intensely guilty since. Clay is shown to be disappointed that Jessica didn't tell the truth about Bryce, despite showing up at court with Alex and Tony to support her. Jessica explains to Clay that she isn't the 'right victim' to take the stand against Bryce as she isn't white, sweet or sensitive like Hannah was.
Clay decides that they need to find Justin and get his support against Bryce. He asks Tony to help search for him. He finds out via an old photo of Justin and Jessica that Justin is in Oakland. They find Justin living on the streets, homeless. Clay and Tony try to convince him to come home but Justin refuses. He tells them he stole money from his mother's boyfriend, Seth months earlier. Clay smuggles Justin into his bedroom, hoping his act of kindness will convince Justin to provide some form of justice for Hannah and Jessica with his side of the story. Unfortunately, Justin is now using heroin, something Clay is unaware of.
Tyler has befriended a student named Cyrus, who describes himself as an anarchist. Cyrus has a pretty sister called Mackenzie and a father who teaches his son to 'resist the tyranny' of the high school. Cyrus shows Tyler how to make bombs.
Marcus is shown to have gotten into Harvard and is soon to take the stand at the trial. He's worried about his testimony, especially as his own father has an election coming up soon. Someone wants Marcus to stay quiet and burns down the election sign on the front yard as a warning.
