* KickTheSonOfABitch: Any and all of Simon's treatment of Gregory, while infuriating when Negan did it to Rick, is actually satisfying here. Then, Maggie socks him in the jaw for his troubles.

** In addition to the above, [[spoiler: we later see that Simon is willing to massacre an entire community and leave its leader alive as CruelMercy because he thought said leader's apology ''wasn't sincere enough'', so one can't exactly blame Gregory for being terrified of Simon and willing to do anything to stay on the man's good side.]]

* TragicKeepsake: Ultimately Subverted. Following Jesus' counsel that Hilltop only memorializes their fallen members through memory, Maggie decides not to leave her family's watch at Glenn's grave, and instead gives it to Enid.

Maggie wakes up for the first time in a while to find flowers and Dr. Carson, who tells her that she has not lost the baby, and lets her hear its' heartbeat. Dr. Carson tells Maggie that she was suffering from a minor case of placental abruption, which while unusual in early pregnancies, thankfully has been healed. Dr. Carson asks Maggie to stay at Hilltop for the duration of her pregnancy so she can be close to him in case of another complication, and advises bed rest. Ignoring him, Maggie goes outside and finds Sasha, and is brought to the graves of Glenn and Abraham. Sasha gives Maggie Glenn's pocket watch, having found it in his pocket. Jesus arrives with flowers, but the moment is cut short when Gregory storms over and demands that Maggie leave. Gregory rants that Alexandria was supposed to take care of the Saviors, but they only ended up discovering that Negan has hundreds more Saviors at his command, and that Hilltop is now in danger should the Saviors learn of the alliance. He also mocks Glenn and Abraham's graves, as Hilltop burns their dead. Though unconcerned that Maggie is pregnant, Gregory allows them to stay the night but demands they leave in the morning.

Back at Alexandria, Carl refuses to go on a supply run with Rick and Aaron. Rick shares a kiss with Michonne before departing, as Michonne refuses to join as well. Later, Carl notices Enid preparing to climb over the walls, as she is going to Hilltop to see Maggie. Carl doesn't stop her, and apologizes for locking her in the armory a few days ago. Ultimately, Carl haphazardly drives a car until he catches up with Enid, and they continue the trek together on roller skates that they find, sharing a moment of happiness as they hold hands. Carl then says he made sure he watched every moment of Glenn and Abraham's deaths, as he wanted to make sure that when he gets the chance, he will have no other choice but to kill Negan.

At Hilltop, Jesus promises Sasha he'll try to change Gregory's mind, but Sasha criticizes him for not taking charge of the community from Gregory. Sasha proposes a deal where she will live outside the walls and scavenge supplies in order to pay Maggie's way to live in Hilltop, and Jesus admits it may work. Sasha questions why they don't just overthrow Gregory, and Maggie says he's dangerous because he's a coward. That night, the Saviors attack, opening the gates and setting several fires, and leave a car inside the walls blaring "Finlandia" to lure in a horde of walkers. Sasha springs into action, demanding Maggie stay put as per Dr. Carson's instructions, and Jesus also joins the fray with his martial arts and agility. Maggie orders two Hilltop residents to close the gate, and then hops in a tractor, using it to flatten several walkers and the car, ending the music.

The next morning, Gregory gives Maggie and Sasha a half-assed "thank you" and still orders them to leave. When Sasha's deal is ignored, she asks how she can make it work. Maggie promptly tell Gregory to go to hell when he tries hitting on Sasha. The conversation can't go any further, as the Saviors arrive for their offering, led by Simon. The gang enters Barrington House, and Gregory orders Jesus to hide Maggie and Sasha in a closet. Gregory is affable to Simon as they go to talk in his study, and plays dumb when Simon tells him that the satellite outpost has been wiped out. Gregory says that he understood the message from the previous night's attack, and Simon agrees that it was a show of dominance, but was pleased that Hilltop took care of the walkers on their own. Gregory asks Simon to pass on to Negan the message that Hilltop is still completely obedient, but Simon refuses, since as far as Gregory is concerned for the time being, ''he'' is Negan. Simon asks if there's anything else Gregory wants to bring up, and Gregory agrees, and goes to the closet where he believes Maggie and Sasha are hiding, intending on turning them in. He finds only his stash of scotch, Jesus having hidden the others in another closet, and Simon is delighted at Gregory's apparent gift - though he will take credit for it when he delivers it to Negan. Simon gets a kneel out of Gregory and a painting he had admired before leaving to continue the offering.

Carl and Enid watch the Saviors collect their offering from the woods. Carl wants to attack, but Enid refuses, realizing that Carl only came all this way to try to kill Negan. Enid says she won't stop him, and they share their first kiss. Inside Barrington House, Gregory scolds Jesus for not hiding Maggie and Sasha in the closet he intended, and Maggie and Sasha are angry that he tried to turn them over to Simon. Jesus says that Gregory will no longer be in charge of Hilltop, or he will expose Alexandria's deal with Hilltop to the public. Maggie notices Gregory has pilfered Glenn's watch from his grave, and socks him in the jaw, and demands that she learn her name - Maggie '''Rhee'''.

Sasha later privately asks Jesus to find Negan's base of operations, but to keep it quiet from Maggie. Enid arrives at Hilltop and leaves balloons at Abraham's grave (mixing it up with Glenn's), and reunites with Maggie, who also gives her Glenn's watch, not needing a keepsake to remember Glenn by. Sasha also begins puffing the cigar she found in Abraham's pocket.

The Saviors leave Hilltop, and Jesus swings into the back of one of their trucks, enjoying a swig from Gregory's stash of scotch. He then notices he is not alone in the truck - Carl is there too.

* AccidentalMisnaming: Gregory can't seem to remember ''anyone's'' name, or keep track of who his own people are. He keeps calling Maggie "Marcia," misnames one of his own people when offering the rhubarb preserves and keeps referring to Rick as "Rich." When he meets Sasha, he seems to think she's one of the Hilltoppers before he's corrected and introduced to her by name... then a few scenes later, someone mentions Sasha, and he responds, "Who the hell is Sasha?" It's hard to tell if it's a lack of respect, a really crappy memory, or both.

* NamedByTheAdaptation: Glenn's surname Rhee is mentioned on the show for the first time since it was made canon by former showrunner Glen Mazzara. However, the fact that it was never revealed in-universe prior to his death and is spoken in the context of Maggie taking his last name makes it confusing for casual fans.
