* CreditsGag: Apparently, the Creator/{{Fox}} executives were not pleased with the episode ending on the characters giving high praise for NBC, so the writers inserted a gag in which Homer is forced, at gunpoint, to declare that NBC sucks and encourage the viewer to watch as many Fox shows as possible. However, Homer ends with the summation "NBC bad... Fox good... ''(quickly under his breath)'' Creator/{{CBS}} great.", and he ends up getting shot.

I removed the “Kick the Dog” examples. One of these was about Homer’s workmates insulting him. The other was about Marge getting enraged at a funeral procession. This trope is about “When a character does something evil, cruel or very mean for no apparent gain, because the author wants to demonstrate that they are not a nice person and shift audience sympathy away from them.” In the first example, this purpose of this scene wasn’t to shift sympathy away from the characters, the purpose was simply for them to tease Homer so he’d be embarrassed about driving the car and Marge would have to drive it (while the characters continued to be seen as basically good people). In the second example, while Marge was being inconsiderate, she wasn’t being cruel for no gain (she had a clearly defined gain of trying to get ahead in traffic) and the purpose was to show that Marge was going off the deep end with driving this car, not to make the audience dislike her. So I don’t believe the trope applies in these examples.

* KickTheDog:
** Homer's friends at work fire off a barrage of sexist jokes at Homer after pointing out that the Canyonero he purchased is a model designed for women (with a lipstick instead of a cigarrette lighter, for example).
** Marge gets enraged when a funeral procession is slowing her down and drives on the sidewalk, scaring off the people honoring the deceased, and she yells at them "the road is for the living!" as she does. It gets an InUniverse reaction as well, with Reverend Lovejoy pointing out that she's disrespecting the the casket full of bricks that represents a young man missing at sea.

* WhiteDudeBlackDude: At the talent show, Willie attempts a monologue about how North and South Edinburgh golfers putt differently from one another. Nobody laughs at all.
-->'''Willie:''' Oh, I see, Willie's not funny unless he's down on his knees scoopin' up yer little brats' puke!
-->(''the audience laughs'')
-->'''Willie:''' (''beat'') Thank you, you've been great.

** At least one rhino is shown to have been taken down by Homer's popcorn, but the scene goes by too fast for it to be noticed upon first viewing.

* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Homer manages to knock out one rampaging rhino by throwing a ton of popcorn at it. Unfortunately, he's all out by then, and there were still three others to deal with.
