With their new paychecks, Fixer and Jumpsuit set off with Bonkbot to shop before they begin working again. Meanwhile, Heavy and KIA take a passenger train to a meeting place KIA wishes to reach, but it's mysteriously stopped at a server checkpoint by a lone V.A.C. agent. He explains that there's a power outtage preventing the train from continuing, forcing the passengers to wait at the station. KIA doesn't buy this explanation at all, so he hatches a plan with Heavy to return the server's power to normal themselves. In doing so, they find an unexpectedly valuable ally in Smoke.

  • Androids Are People, Too: Bonkbot has long since been allowed to live as a civilian along with Fixer and Jumpsuit, but this episode reveals that he's not unique in this regard. Fixer takes him and Jumpsuit to a local coffee shop for breakfast, and he surprises him with the barista there: a robot Heavy. Upon seeing Bonkbot, the robot Heavy hesitates before serving Fixer and company, but Fixer assures him that Bonkbot is a friend. Turns out, according to Fixer, that this is a robot from Gray Mann's army; he was ostracized due to being defective. Thankfully, he was smuggled to safety, but he's constantly alert for any Gray-allied robots looking to capture him to be scrapped.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: Being a former V.A.C. operative himself, KIA immediately notices inconsistencies with what the V.A.C. Engineer claims. Aside from knowing trains never stop at server checkpoints despite the Engineer saying otherwise, KIA is left wondering why V.A.C. would leave a single operative on duty here, when they are required to leave at least three stationed in every location, without exception. After revealing all of this to Heavy, they theorize that the Engineer is a Distorted, alongside the other straggling passengers present before their train arrived, and he's set a trap for them and the other passengers. Being careful not to reveal their suspicions to him, they manage to convince the Engineer to allow them into server's backbone to fix the power outage themselves. And the moment they're out of sight, their concerns are proven correct when a Walker appears, ordering the Engineer and his fellow Distorted to dispose of the uninfected.
  • Physical Attribute Swap: Switcheroo's primary ability allows Smoke to swap the physical attributes of any object Smoke can get her hands on with Switch's arrows. They first demonstrate this ability against a Distorted Engineer antagonizing the heroes from afar with his sentry. She finds a Spy's electro-sapper nearby and swaps its attributes, allowing Switch to disable the sentry from afar.
  • Wham Line: A Feral Distorted alerts its brethren that KIA, Heavy Guy, and Smoke are intruding on the server backbone, and KIA uses American Myth to dispose of it. Suddenly, the perspective shifts to Smoke, who sees Myth and immediately questions her companions if they have a spirit following them—as she has one, too. That's right; Smoke is a Stand User, and she freely uses it throughout the subsequent confrontation with the Distorted to show off what she's capable of.
[Right after American Myth kills the screaming Feral, Smoke watches as he floats behind KIA and disappears.]
Smoke: Wait! You guys ha—Y-You have one of those, too?!
[This development catches KIA and Heavy Guy by surprise. They look at each other as if to confirm what they just heard.]
    KIA: One of what?
[The scene cuts to show some Distorted on the way to fight, then returns to Smoke.]
Smoke: The floating Soldier with all the gear! I saw that!
    KIA: ... Wait, so—
Heavy: [pointing behind KIA] You saw that?
    Smoke: Yeah!
    Heavy: You saw his Stand?
Smoke: Is that what that is?
[Heavy and KIA exchange another glance before Heavy summons Crush behind him, pointing him out.]
    Heavy: You can see this?
Smoke: Yes! I-I have my own, too!
[A vague form materializes behind Smoke.]
Smoke: You can come out, Switch. We're not alone anymore.
[Out comes Smoke's Stand, Switcheroo, fully formed for all to see. A stat spread splash screen appears alongside her.]
Smoke: This is Switcheroo. My... helper ghost.
Heavy: HA HAAA! Smoke! You are Stand User! VERRRY GOOOOOD!!
