After saving Barry from a monster, the girl encourage him to be a hero (in the figurative sense) when he expresses his desire to be something more. So Barry decides to become a superhero despite having no powers. The girls play along to boost his confidence, but Barry's "heroics" soon go to his head.

- Acquired Situational Narcissism: Barry gains a bit of an ego due to his "successes" (Really the girls beating monsters and letting Barry take the credit for it). When the girls tell him the truth behind his victories, he claims they're just jealous.
- Grossup Closeup: When in the cafeteria and talking about Barry, Bubbles brings up his pie again. But by this point it's old, green and molded with a lovely detailed shot of it.
- I Just Want to Be Normal: The conclusion Barry comes to at the end after being put in Mojo's robot to power it. Deciding he's more better at baking then superhero-ing.
- I Just Want to Be Special: Barry at the start when the girls save him from a monster.
- Rummage Sale Reject: Barry's superhero outfit which consists of a red suit, underwear on the outside, a blanket for a cape, yellow glove, blue boots and a mask around his eyes.
- Running Gag: Bubbles eating Barry's pie despite it being on the ground or molded.
- Powered by a Forsaken Child: When Mojo finishes his robot, the last on his instructions state he needs a "disposable brain" to power it which Mojo wonders where to get one. Enter Barry come to challenge him which he figures "good enough".
