Release: March 27, 2019

Film: X-Men Origns: Jimmy... er, Wolverine

Tagline: Here it is, the bottom of the barrel, what most people call the worst X-Men movie. Can the Nostalgia Critic get through it without digging his claws into the screen? It’s time for X-Men Origins: Wolverine!

This review contains examples of:

  • Genre Savvy: The Critic gets wise of the invading characters trying to force a specific review on him.
Critic: Stop right there! I know how this works. You bring up a movie or person I don't want to talk about, and once I talk about them, their picture pops up, and I'm stuck reviewing it! Well, I'm not falling for it this time, so get out!
  • Hilarious Outtakes: A blooper at the end of the credits is shown, where Tamara's wig falls off during the scene where the Critic forces Hyper Fangirl out of his room.
  • Review Ironic Echo:
Critic: So, after summing up how people are liking this movie...
General Munson: Colonel, this is turning into a disaster.
  • Revised Ending: Discussed. During the scene where Wolverine fights Deadpool, the Critic splices in the mid-credits scene from Deadpool 2 where Deadpool travels to this film and kills his counterpart.
Critic: (shrugging) Hey, I'm just keeping the canon! Sadly, that's not what happens in this film, though. But, oh my God, can you imagine every copy of this movie they made afterwards? They put that part in, and that's where it ends. They roll the credits and everything... Oh my God, Ryan Reynolds, get on that!
  • Rule of Cool: The reason why the X-Month intro features various characters despite the Critic not intending to feature them in the actual reviews is because he just told the animator to draw something cool.
  • Running Gag: The Critic preferring to call Wolverine "Jimmy".
  • Sequel Hook: The universe apparently forces the Critic to do another Tommy Wiseau movie.
  • Special Effects Failure: In-Universe he brings attention to how horrible the CGI for Wolverine's claws are, which comes across as especially embarrassing since they looked much better in the first film which had a smaller budget.
Critic: After he picked them up from Toon Town — what is up with those effects!?
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: The Critic successfully avoids talking about a movie or person he doesn't want to discuss and does his Signing-Off Catchphrase, but as he is leaving, a picture of Tommy Wiseau pops up anyway.
    Critic: Damn it!

(Wolverine makes a "reverse quack")
