The gang meets Jeannie the genie, her apprentice Babu and their human friends Corey Anders and Henry Glopp, and end up back in time to Ancient Persia to stop Abdullah, uncle of prince Abin (heir to the kingdom of Zendat)note , and his wicked genie ally Jadal from driving Prince Abin away from the palace.

- Glass-Shattering Sound: The evil djinn Jadal imprisons Jeannie in a bottle. The gang eventually finds the bottle, but it is protected by a force field. Scooby manages to howl loud enough to shatter the bottle. Now that she is free, it is a simple matter for Jeannie to dispel the force field.
- Real After All: The wicked genie Jadal has the distinct honor of being the first genuinely supernatural threat ever faced by Mystery Inc.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: The episode features Jadal, a wicked djinn who had been imprisoned in a bottle for 1,000 years, as the main supernatural antagonist.
