Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 4 E7a Cloud Cloud Go Away

Go To

A cloud starts raining on Tigger after he throws a rock at and insults it for blocking his view when he tries to bounce over a tree. Pooh and Piglet try to help Tigger get rid of the cloud.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Book Ends: When Tigger tries to bounce over the tree at the beginning of the episode, he does not succeed due to a cloud blocking the sun and things get worse when he insults and throws a rock at said cloud. In the final scene, he is able to bounce over said tree with help from the cloud after apologizing to and being forgiven by it.
  • Cumulonemesis: The cloud that follows and rains on Tigger throughout the episode.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Tigger nails his front door shut to try to keep the cloud from following him, but doesn't think to block any other potential entry points to his house. This results in the cloud entering through the pipe on the wood stove and pushing said stove door open before going over to Tigger and starting to rain on him again.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: In the climax, Pooh points out to Tigger that the cloud was only doing what clouds do when it blocked the sun.
  • Everything's Better with Rainbows: After forgiving Tigger, the cloud stops raining and a rainbow comes out of it. Tigger then climbs up the rainbow and onto the cloud and bounces over the tree he wanted to bounce over at the beginning of the episode.
  • Jerkass Realization: After Tigger complains that the cloud started their conflict by blocking the sun, Pooh points out that it's only doing what clouds do. This causes Tigger to realize that he should apologize to get the cloud to stop raining on him and he does so after he, Pooh, and Piglet emerge from the log that they are sheltering in.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Tigger's poor treatment of the cloud causes it to rain on his head until he apologizes to it at the end of the episode.
  • Mundane Utility: Rabbit, upon noticing the cloud raining on Tigger, has the latter stand over some of his (Rabbit's) vegetables to water them.
  • Outside-Context Problem: A sentient cloud and force of nature is hardly something the residents of the Wood are equipped to deal with.
  • Personal Raincloud: The cloud starts to be this to Tigger after getting insulted.
  • Pet the Dog: Rabbit has no trouble lending assistance to Tigger, insisting "what are friends for?". That said, he ends up being unable to help and uses Tigger's cloud to water his garden.
  • Stock Sound Effects: Most of the sounds of the thunder and lightning when the cloud gets violent are different from what was used for thunder in prior episodes, sounding more realistic and modern. They're the same thunder effects that were also used in Garfield and Friends, TaleSpin, certain Darkwing Duck episodes, The Little Mermaid (1992), Bonkers and Rocko's Modern Life.
  • Waxing Lyrical: After leaving Rabbit's house, Tigger quotes the first line of the song "Rain, Rain, Go Away", adding "and come again on some other guy."
