The Cheer Squad must turn to their enemies for help.

- Bait-and-Switch: When getting new members for the Cheer Squad, Brittnay asks Saison, Mackenzie asks Shay, and Trisha works up the nerve to ask... Trisha 2.
- Call-Back: Shay still has control of the girls' bathroom, and reminds Mackenzie that she's currently banned.
- Enemy Mine: With no more allies, the Cheer Squad is forced to ask the people they hate most for help. And Trisha 2.Mackenzie: Shay, will you just say yes or no and make this easy?
Shay: Make this easy? Mackenzie, why the fuck would you suddenly want me on your cheer squad? Me, the girl you've hated all these years?
Mackenzie: Well, because now, I've encountered something I hate even more than you, Shay Van Buren: hipsters. - Everybody Has Standards: Shay is quick to gloat over the fact that Mackenzie doesn't have access to the bathroom they're currently in, but when she thinks Mackenzie might actually be about to vomit, she tells her to just go into a stall.
- I Don't Like You And You Don't Like Me: Said almost word-for-word when Mackenzie is trying to convince Shay they have a common enemy.Mackenzie: You don't like me, and I sure as fuck don't like you...
- Not Now, Kiddo: When Mackenzie and Brittnay argue over about what they need to do next, they continuously ignore a questioning Trisha. She finally gets their attention when she begins shouting and panicking loudly, thinking that she's turned into a ghost.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Brittnay mutters this to herself before asking Saison if she wants to rejoin the Cheer Squad. Mackenzie has similar feelings about asking Shay. It's even the title of the episode!
- Wham Episode: Saison is back on the squad, Trisha 2 is transferring to Overland Park so she can join, too, and not only is Shay joining them, she's head cheerleader now.
- Wham Line: After Mackenzie refuses Shay's demands to be head cheerleader and starts to walk away, Shay points out that Mackenzie may not have a squad at all next year. Mackenzie weighs her options, and then:Mackenzie: ...Fine.
