Day 436

Lucca and Maia are tasked with shadowing Chicago policemen on patrol. Diane has Trump-related hallucinations. The firm is defending an author who is being sued by an actor named Kip Dunning for writing about women who have accused him of sexual harassment. Maia gets motion sick during a car chase, but doesn't let that stop her. Lucca's police car pulls over a DUI, and it turn's out to be Colin's mother, Francesca.

Jay talks to a victim of sexual assault who says anti-semitic things. Adrian learns that his influence caused at least one female law student to abandon a career in law. Maia finds the dead body of a former policeman on her patrol. Marissa talks to another victim of sexual assault and tells her that her anonymity protects Kip. She won't give up her anonymity, but she gives Marissa a recording.

Diane keeps trying to break up with Tully. Lucca is considering telling Colin about her pregnancy and lands on 'yes'.

Tropes

  • Call-Back: Maia runs into Chantal, whom she met in prison.
  • Central Theme: The oppression of women.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Francesca is unhappy with her mugshot and wants a retake.
  • Continuity Nod: Diane mentions Will Gardner having gotten into a fistfight with the opposing counsel Burl Preston on The Good Wife.
  • Honorable Marriage Proposal: Colin makes one to Lucca, but she doesn't think a pregnancy is a good enough reason to get married.
  • Mistaken for Racist: Jay isn't sure if the woman he talks to is anti-Semitic or if she just has an issue with Black Cube, an investigator firm made up of ex-Mossad agents.
  • Non-Answer: Lucca expresses some scepticism when asked to sign a waiver not holding the police responsible for any bodily harm that may occur on patrol. The police chief tells her not to worry about it in the area she's going to patrol. Maia asks about her own area, and he tells her to make sure to sign all the pages.
  • Plot Parallel: The firm is dealing with women potentially being sexually harassed by men in power, while Maia and Lucca are dealing with regular people potentially being harassed by cops.
