Recap / The Fairly Odd Parents S 6 E 22 Birthday Bashed

Go To

It's Timmy's birthday, but he learns that each year he gets older he's closer to losing his fairies

Tropes:

  • Ageless Birthday Episode: It's Timmy's birthday, but it's not mentioned what age he's turning and he's referred to as 10 in both before and after this episode.
  • Bad Impressionists: Juandissimo tries doing a Timmy impression for his birthday, but he only ends up horribly playing up how "stupid" Timmy is and is outmatched by Poof.
  • Birthday Episode: For Timmy.
  • Dance Party Ending: The episode ends with Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda and Poof dancing to Chip Skylark's birthday version of "Shiny Teeth and Me".
  • Forgotten Birthday: Near the end, it's revealed that Timmy's parents weren't actually preparing the party accessories for Timmy's birthday - it was for their anniversary and they completely forgot it was their son's birthday as well. Timmy, who thinks he's gonna lose Cosmo and Wanda on his birthday, is actually relieved to hear that.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Juandissimo and Poof pretend to be Timmy in order to distract Jorgen (with Poof changing his face into Timmy's and Juandissimo wearing him on his face as a mask and wearing a pink t-shirt). In spite of Poof's purple eyes, the fact he isn't moving his mouth while Juandissimo is talking (something Jorgen acknowledges) and the fact Juandissimo didn't bother changing his adult-sounding, Hispanic accented voice and muscular body (something Jorgen also acknowledges), Jorgen is fooled anyway.
  • Series Continuity Error:
    • Despite learning about the "godchildren lose their fairies when they reach adulthood" rule in "Big Problem" and "Channel Chasers", Timmy is still shocked when Jorgen tells him about it. Also, Timmy believes that he will lose his fairies on his birthday while he's still a kid, despite the fact that "Channel Chasers" showed that he will get to keep Cosmo and Wanda until he's 18 (though in that case, he had aged himself up artificially rather than naturally so that may explain it).
    • Timmy's birthday is shown to be on the same day as his parents' anniversary in this episode, but Cosmo and Wanda don't have it. However, in "Apartnership!", it was shown that Cosmo's and Wanda's anniversary was on the same day Mr. and Mrs. Turner's anniversary, while Timmy definitely wasn't celebrating his birthday. Knowing Timmy's parents though, they may have simply forgotten when their anniversary was.
    • Crocker's former fairies in the instruction video are not Cosmo and Wanda, who were established to have been his former godparents in "The Secret Origin of Mr. Crocker". It could be possible that Crocker briefly regained fairies for the purpose of filming the instructional video and had his memories wiped after it was filmed like Adam West or his former fairies here quit and got replaced by Cosmo and Wanda (as "Fairy Idol" establishes replacement godparents exist for quitting ones).
