Sheldon's childhood friend Tam comes to town. Bernadette and Penny try to learn more about Anu.
Tropes:
- Foregone Conclusion: Raj assures Tam that whatever happened between him and Sheldon 20 years ago, they are already sure Tam was in the right and Sheldon in the wrong.
- Imaginary Friend: Leonard wonders if Sheldon old friend and bitter enemy Tam who betrayed him is the imaginary talking koala who betrayed him.
- In Spite of a Nail: When speculating what life would be like if Tam had lived with Sheldon in Pasedena, Sheldon's Imagine Spot shows he believe this trope would be in play; that things would have happened the same as they did, just with Tam instead of Leonard.
- What If?: At Amy's prompting, Sheldon briefly imagines what his life would be like if Tam moved to California as originally intended and Leonard was never in the picture. Sheldon proceeds to imagine a few scenes from prior episodes with Tam instead of Leonard giving the dialogue and does not believe any differences will take place.
