Plot
Following her meltdown in the last episode, Amy tries to relax using a deprivation tank. Unfortunately, the pressure of winning a Noble Prize gets to her. Meanwhile, Howard and Raj use a scooter to try and relive their single days.Tropes:
- Berate and Switch: Amy asks the human resources lady if she has something stronger than water. Ms. Davis says Amy's name in a reprimanding tone, then digs vodka and two glasses out of a cupboard.Janine: Dr. Fowler! This is human resources.
- Call-Back: To the time Howard had a scooter.
- Censor Shadow: Sheldon and Amy enter the deprivation tanks, which are usually done naked, wearing black body suits. This can either be a form of the trope, or the fact that Sheldon (and possibly Amy) would not do the nude thing.
- Guilt by Association Gag: Due to being Amy's husband, Sheldon ends up getting chewed out by President Siebert for her blowup.
- Hollywood Mid-Life Crisis: When Howard and Raj see a scooter for sale, Howard purchases it so he and Raj can ride it together like they did when they were both younger and single. Too bad for him Bernadette makes him sell it once she finds out, arguing that it's too dangerous. Howard then sells the scooter to Bert late in the episode.
- Mathematician's Answer: When Penny comments that she didn't know Rubik's cube stickers had numbers, Sheldon replies that everything has a number if you assign it one.
