7 Weeks to open. While the staff in Chicago struggle to meet their opening timeline, Marcus travels to Copenhagen to try new recipes and stage for one of Carmy's old colleagues, Luca.

- Foreshadowing: There are various notes referencing needing to call Tony/Terry (the person who will fix the walk-in fridge handle). Them NOT having been called becomes a big issue in the forthcoming episodes, and has huge impact in the finale.
- The Ghost: One of the chores for the boat Marcus is staying on is "leaving water for the cat" which is never seen. Marcus openly wonders after several days of the water level not changing if there even is a cat.
- Hero of Another Story: Luca has just as storied and incredible a career as Carmy, but admits he hit a wall when he encountered a chef he thought he was competing with, but could never hope to surpass, only learn from. Episode 7 reveals they actually worked at the same high-end Chicago restaurant together, and Carmy is very likely the chef he was referring to.
- My Secret Pregnancy: Sugar has been trying to keep her pregnancy a secret, but eventually decides to reveal it to Carmy... right as the outer office wall collapses and the entire staff hear about it.
