From his cell, Viral finds it amusing that Simon, the hero who liberated humanity, would be locked up with a beastman like himself. But the only thing on Simon's mind is that there are only two weeks left until the moon crashes down to Earth.
Back at the Arc-Gurren, Leeron shows Rossiu something that shocks him to the core. Namely, when the moon crashes, the surface along with the underground shelters will be utterly destroyed and the planet will not be able to support life for one year.Rossiu decides that the Arc-Gurren shall remain in space until Earth can become habitable again.
As the Mugann appear to attack Kamina City, or rather, the Arc-Gurren, Kittan has Dayakka take Kiyoh, Kiyal and Ane along with the other evacuees. Makken and his wife Leyte show up with Team Dai Gurren's Gunmen. As the Arc-Gurren emerges with a Spiral shield protecting it, Rossiu orders the Graperl squad to take as many evacuees as possible, since the Arc-Gurren's shield, according to Lordgenome, can only remain active for thirty minutes so the on board engine can have enough power to take off.Kittan then shows up and tells Rossiu to give him Simon's core drill so he can return it to him. After thirty minutes have passed,the Arc-Gurren takes off, leaving behind several of the city residents.
Back at Licarne Prison, Viral and Simon are left in their cells. Simon doesn't mind dying as long as humanity is safe. Suddenly Nia appears to claim that no life form will survive on Earth and that Rossiu has abandoned humanity. She then states that what the Anti-Spirals want is for humans to to experience Absolute Despair. A shot is then fired.
