Go To

A time-traveling robot-warrior appears and it causes quit a stir. Krang marvels at his advanced technology and salivates at the thought of having him.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Tickle Torture: This is M.A.C.C.'s reaction to being struck by a state-of-the-art laser that was being conveniently tested in the area where he teleported into.
  • Achilles' Heel: M.A.C.C. is utterly invulnerable except for a few joints on his neck. Subverted when Krang's docilator fails to take control of him.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Krang's docilator has this effect on M.A.C.C. When under its effects, his eyes glow green instead of his usual blue.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When Shredder lampshades that Krang has just the docilator that can control M.A.C.C. just lying around collecting dust, Krang dismisses him by saying that they have to keep the story moving.
  • Fun with Acronyms: M.A.C.C.'s full name stands for "Mobile Armored Computerized Combatant"
  • Humans Are Bastards: When cops start firing at M.A.C.C., he laments that such unprovoked aggression must mean he's on Earth.
  • Klingons Love Shakespeare: M.A.C.C. tends to flip-flop between regular speech and a stereotypical cowboy because it entertains itself with old Westerns during transport.
  • Martial Pacifist: While M.A.C.C. was designed to be a Killer Robot, he was a factory reject because his programming makes him abhor doing violence. Won't stop him from defending himself from attacks though. This also is how Donatello persuades M.A.C.C. to return home, by suggesting that he become a "Warrior for Peace" in his own era.
  • Never My Fault: While Shredder manages to get Krang's docilator onto M.A.C.C., it fails to take control of him. While Krang makes a new and improved docilator, he blames Shredder for failing the first time around.
  • Race Against the Clock: The 2nd half of the episode's plot becomes this when it's revealed that M.A.C.C. is going to explode if he doesn't return home.
  • The Runaway: This is M.A.C.C.'s reaction to learning that he's going to self-destruct in he isn't returned home. Unwilling to return to his violent timeline, but also unwilling to let his new friends get hurt.
  • Shout-Out:
    • After being interviewed by April, M.A.C.C. mistakes a nearby studio camera for his brother, "Number 5."
  • Terminator Impersonator: Or Mobile Armored Computerized Combatant (M.A.C.C.) is a robot brought to present times from the far future. While it behaves human enough, it was designed to be an unstoppable killing machine.
  • Time Bomb: The turtles discover that due to M.A.C.C.'s journey through time, his circuitry got scrambled and is breaking down. The results of which will cause M.A.C.C. to explode with enough strength to level New York City.
