Recap / Teen Titans Go S 5 E 48 Collect Them All

Go To

When the other Titans are transformed into collectable toys by Toy Master so he can make a fortune, Robin must track them all down.

  • Cursed Item: The plot is instigated by a cursed figurine Beast Boy bought from Toy Master, the latter even stating that Beast Boy's passion for collection will become ironic during the purchase.
  • Forced Transformation: The Titans, other than Robin, are transformed into figurines by a Cursed Item Beast Boy bought from the Toy Master to complete his own figurine collection. Later, it turns out that he also cursed the Justice League, and tries to use them to forcibly take the Titan figurines from Robin once they've been found. When Toy Master's plot is foiled, they all turn back into humans...as does the bootleg Raven that wasn't originally human.
  • Gotta Catch 'Em All: Robin spends the episode having to travel across Jump City to find his friends-turned-collectables after they're magically transformed and scattered by a figurine Toy Master sold Beast Boy.
  • Living Toys: In addition to the people-turned-figurines, it turns out that all of the figurines being collected are sentient enough to talk and battle each other, even the bootleg Raven.
  • The Scrooge: When Robin sees that figurine-Cyborg is being sold for $10 at a yard sale, Robin decides he'd rather destroy the packaging and set his friend Cyborg on fire just so he only has to pay 75 cents.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: Realizing that collectables only have value if there are other people that want to collect them, Robin ultimately defeats Toy Master by willingly giving up his friends to him, depreciating their value and making them worthless for Toy Master's plan.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product: When Robin attempts to just buy figurine-Raven through online shopping, he ends up with one of these, who states this Trope name verbatim when describing herself.
  • Title Drop: "Gotta Collect Them All" is repeatedly uttered by various characters trying to complete their own figurine collections, such as Beast Boy and the collector that tries to collect figurine-Starfire first.
  • Would Hurt a Child: After learning that figurine-Beast Boy is now the beloved toy of a child, Robin attempts to break into his house and take it from his arms while he's asleep, succeeding but only after triggering a burglar alarm and getting beaten up by the boy's father.
