Oscar tells the story of The Jersey Devil to try and save some local pine barrens from The Witches.
- Ambiguous Ending: We never find out if the JD is there or not.
- The Jersey Devil: Oscar's story is about how he and his father went out looking for him. He never appears, but Oscar brings up the possibility that he might be hiding in the island to get Susie to spare the pine barrens.
- Logic Bomb: As Susie notes, The JD is the best hider in the world. Hedgehog uses that against her, by proposing he could be hiding in the island pine barrens and they'd never know. Susie has no retort and calls off the tree clearing.
- Whole Episode Flashback: Most of the episode is a flashback to the time Oscar's father took him and Hedgehog camping.
