Sender: Cory Dewey-Smith
Strong Bad: I'll take Strong Bad Emails for a thousand, please.
Cory Dewey-Smith wants to know how he can get the clock on his VCR to stop blinking 12:00. Strong Bad admits to having the same problem, and decides to go see how his technical adviser (Bubs) is "dewing". It turns out Bubs' solution is to duct-tape an alarm clock to the VCR, after an earlier failed attempt to duct-tape the Cheat to the VCR ("He wasn't into that").
Strong Bad: Oh, I could have told you that, man. Well, anyways, thanks for your help, Bubs. And thank you, Cory... Dewey-Smith!
Tropes:
- Duct Tape for Everything: Bubs's ultimate solution to the problem of a blinking VCR is to duct-tape a working clock to it.
- In-Universe Game Clock: Non-video game example. The Flash version uses ActionScript to display your computer's time on the alarm clock. It continues to work on the site thanks to the Ruffle player.
- Noodle Incident: Bubs' first solution to the blinking VCR was to duct-tape The Cheat to it, but "he wasn't into that."
- Shout-Out:
- Strong Bad opens the email with "I'll take Strong Bad E-mails for a thousand, please."
- An Easter egg features a number of different videos coming out of the VCR, including Yo! MTV Raps, Condorman, season 2 of You Can't Do That on Television, V (1983), The Commish, the series finale of M*A*S*H, and The Joy of Painting.
Strong Bad: So... Join us next week when we'll be duct-taping clocks to all kinds of different stuff!
(Cut to a close-up of the VCR. The Paper comes down)
