Chapter 46: Evening
Nanako remains exhausted after the trip to the Metaverse, and ends up brewing coffee to try staying awake instead of messing up her sleep schedule by passing out again. Due to Kaho's passion for brewing unique blends, she'd become something of a gourmet, while Yu had low-quality Crawbucks beans. Yu arrives that evening with croquettes, and agrees that they can go food shopping that weekend. Nanako chastises him for buying Crawbucks coffee because it was a subsidiary of Okumura Foods, known for questionable food sourcing and inhumane employee treatment. Yu remarks how much she's still an avatar of justice, and though Nanako realizes the significance of the word, she doesn't have the Guts to ask him about it.
Later, in bed, Ryuji texts Nanako to thank her, and says he'll tell her the full story of what happened with Kamoshida someday. Then Nanako texts Ren, confirming he's unhurt (thanks to Morgana) and then asking about checking out Shibuya after school on Saturday. After a long pause, Ren agrees, and Nanako blushes as she goes to sleep.
Chapter 47: ???
Nanako meets Margaret again, the compendium in her lap as she sits outside the cell. Nanako says she learned how to use it, able to call on the Hierophant Arcana, and Margaret explains that every new relationship she makes resonates with a given Arcana, and the stronger the relationship, the stronger the Personas of that Arcana. As Nanako second-guesses her bond with Yu, Margaret reassures her that bonds can be remade stronger than before, saying that with enough time, she could be as strong as Margaret herself.
Processing the implications, Nanako makes to offer her the book, but Margaret vehemently refuses; if she took the Compendium, she wouldn't be able to resist using its power to try beating the rigged game herself, despite knowing that she cannot win. She then says that their meetings are a risk, and the more knowledge she tells, the more attention she'll draw, risking being unable to meet again. She simply says that Nanako is a secret player and that by borrowing Yu's Compendium, she's tipping the balance in favor of humanity. She promises that it will make sense in time before sending Nanako on her way.
