Having defeated the Red Skull and Dr Octopus Dr Doom remains the last villain left to be defeated however having taken his kingdom from Dr Octopus he has managed to improve it and make it a paradise compared to when Ock ruled over it. When the Thing is captured by Doom he demands to know how they were all sent here and by whom when the Thing refuses to talk rather than torture him he instead cures him something Reed Richards could never do. Despite evidence to the contrary the team still suspects that Doom has a hidden evil agenda and when they refuse to surrender peacefully Doom makes them all enemies of the state and if found guilty they will all be terminated. To save his teammates Ben decides to tell Doom that the Beyonder was the one who sent them all here Doom has strongly suspected that a higher power as the reason for all of them being on this planet as he felt its power as they were being brought there.
