Jax gets a shot at killing Clay and finally ridding himself of his influence. Linc Potter plans to spring the trap on every party involved in the drug deal, but an unexpected event forces him to change his plans.
- All for Nothing: Potter's meticulously planned operation is cancelled due to the CIA wanting the deal to go through.
- Bittersweet Ending: Jax takes his vengeance on Clay and takes presidency, but robs himself of the chance to leave the club behind. Potter releases Juice from his manipulations and even helps the Sons to deal with Jacob Hale, but he hasn't stopped the drug running operation.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Potter shows up at the city council meeting with a bag full of sex toys to reveal Jacob Hale's real investors.
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Galen refuses to deal with anyone but Clay, so Jax is forced to let him live and finish the deal.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Roosevelt mentions the name of Damon Pope, Oakland's most dangerous gangster and the father of the girl Tig ran over.
- Cruel Mercy: Instead of killing Clay, Jax decides to strip him of his power and force him to become a simple soldier.
- For the Greater Good: Potter says this verbatim when Roosevelt complains about the Sons still transporting drugs for the cartel.
- Full-Circle Revolution: Jax deposes Clay, but he's also forced into the same business as Clay.
- History Repeats: Once again a Teller leads SAMCRO, robbing himself of freedom for the club's sake.

- Spiteful Spit: Jax spits in Clay's face after cutting off his President patch.
