    Sonic the Hedgehog # 25

Go Ahead... Mecha My Day!

The first milestone comic and an adaptation of the plot of Sonic the Hedgehog CD. Robotnik taunts Sonic into traversing a new zone created by him, the Collision Chaos Zone and, to make sure he plays along, kidnaps Amy Rose (her first appearance), who's Sonic's biggest fan and, later on, Tails also gets captured. With the rest of the Freedom Fighters helping him behind the lines, Sonic must traverse the zone and the many traps Robotnik has prepared for him, including a new and equally as fast robotic clone of Sonic known as Metal Sonic, who challenges the blue blur to a dangerous race. The next issue is the one-shot Sonic & Knuckles.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 26

Way, Way Past Cool!

Sonic and his allies are caught off guard by Robotnik's new device: the Weather Anihilator, which allows him to freeze their size of planet Mobius, forcing the Freedom Fighters to look for shelter under the snowy blizzard. Luckily, while hiding in a cave, they meet a new team: the Arctic Freedom Fighters (composed of Flip the penguin, Guntiver the wolf, Erma the ermine, Sealia the seal and Augustus the polar bear), whom used Robotnik's discarded machines to create an Arctic Zone to inhabit after they were ousted by the evil tyrant. With their help, Sonic and the rest of the Freedom Fighters are able to train for the cold weather and together they all face Robotnik's new machine.

Fortified

After spraining his ankle, Sonic cannot run for a while and he and his friends just so happen to be on the run from Robotnik's bot bus. Fortunately, they find shelter in an abandoned fort built by Sally's ancestors and, by repurposing an old cannon into a suit of armor for Bunnie, they manage to hold the fort and twart Robotnik's siege.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 27

A Scrambled Hedgehog

This issue takes place after the single issue comic Sonic Triple Trouble and tells the first two-part story. After being knocked unconscious while trying to escape Robotropolis, Sonic suffers from Identity Amnesia and Robotnik capitalizes on this by making him believe the mad doctor is his mentor and ally and convinces him to go find the "evil" Freedom Fighters' hideout and defeat them. Unbeknownst to Sonic, he has a tracker in his shoes that Robotnik plans to use to find the Knothole hideout. With the alarms of the base setting off, and realizing Sonic's being tracked but not understanding what he's doing, his allies will have to use every resource and security measure at their disposal to stop the amnesiac hedgehog and save the Knothole citizens from the attack before Robotnik finds them.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 28

Saturday Night's Alright For a Fight!

Continuing from the last issue, Sonic reaches Knothole HQ. The good news is that the jamming device on the hideout prevents Robotnik from finding out where it is; but the bad news is that Sonic still believes the Freedom Fighters are his enemies and fights them off. After some complications, Sonic manages to defeat almost all of his allies, until Antoine, leading the new members of the team (presented in the Princess Sally mini-series), ambushes the blue hedgehog while in the dark. Once knocked out, Sonic regains his memories and tricks Robotnik's demolition machines into getting destroyed before they can reach the last location of the tracker. Everything seems well... except for Tails.

Growing Pains! (Part 1 of 2)

Angry at Sonic for having attacked him and tired, unwilling to hear his explanations and tired of being treated like a child by his peers, Tails decides to go solo and sets off in the Sea Fox submarine to look for adventures. After finding an uncharted island, the young fox meets and rescues Fiona Fox, but as he follows her into a lair, it is revealed that she's actually a leftover Auto Automaton from Robotnik (also from the Princess Sally mini-series) and traps Tails into a robotization machine.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 29

Steel-Belted Sally

Aided by Dulcy, the last non-robotiziced dragon, Sonic and the Freedom Fighters come across a portable de-robotization device that can restore anyone back to their organic selves. In order to sabotage Robotnik's base, Sally volunteers to get robotiziced and, using a neuro-overrider to ensure she retains her mind after being turned into a robot, plans to help the Freedom Fighters sneak inside the base to then be turned back from the robotization. However, the overrider falls from her head and she becomes a fully subservient soldier under Robotnik's command. Just as she is about to turn her trapped friends into robots, Dulcy manages to use the de-robotization device on her and returns her to normal.

Growing Pains! (Part 2 of 2)

Continuing after last issue, Tails manages to escape the robotization machine and tries to tackle Robotnik, but Fiona stops him and fights him. The little fox escapes and, during a struggle with her, they end up almost drowning. Tails is unable to fight her because he's fallen in love with her, but fortunately she rusts due to the water. After Robotnik escapes, Tails rescues Fiona and swears he'll make sure the villain repairs her. After learning of a new plan Robotnik's prepared in a new land, the two-tailed fox sets off alone towards a new land to prove to his teammates he's capable of solving problems on his own. This story would continue in the Tails mini-series.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 30

The Return of Uncle Chuck

After a failed experiment with a Transdimensional Transporter, robotized Uncle Chuck regains his memories, Dr. Robotnik is trapped in the Void and Snively decides to keep him there to take over and face the Freedom Fighters himself. Chuck meets with Sonic and tells them about Snively's plans. After NICOLE calculates the dangers of the transporter, Sonic and Chuck decide to take on their new threat together and, despite Sonic getting trapped in the Void, Chuck manages to release both his nephew and Robotnik, who swore not to hurt them in exchange for his cooperation.

Who Keeps Stealing My Chaos Emeralds?!

Coconuts tries to stop a mysterious thief who has been stealing Robotnik's Chaos Emeralds all the time, but fails misserably. The thief is revealed in the end to be Bunnie, who stole the Emeralds for the Knothole Charity Dance. As an extra, there's also a preview of Knuckles' Chaotix, a one-shot comic that would take place between issues 30 and 31.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 31

A Robot Rides the Rails

Sonic and Sally attempt to board a train carrying Robotnik's new super-robot, but they encounter Geoffrey St. James, who's trying to sabotage the train himself. After the robot is activated and puts them all in peril, Sonic and Geoffrey will have to learn to put their differences aside to successfully defeat the giant bot and rescue their crush.

Lost... and Found!

Continuing from the events in Knuckles' Chaotix, Knuckles looks for his allies, the Chaotix, who have been captured by a mysterious new enemy called Archimedes, who is observing Knuckles' search closely. Like Tundra Road below, this storyline would be continued in the next issue.

Tundra Road (Part 1)

Rotor recieves a radio signal from the Frozen North Sea whose voice seems to resemble Rotor's Mom's. The walrus parts in the Bathysphere to the origin of the signal, only to find out his herd is being mind-controlled by Robotnik, who has a new plan to freeze all of Mobius. While trying to run away, Rotor is knocked unconscious and left to drown in the icy waters.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 32

Blast from the Past

After meeting a robotiziced Muttski, but being unable to free him, Sonic and the Freedom Fighters end up in a cave where they find a frozen Mobian Cave Bear. They take him to the Knothole Forest and unfreeze him, but the guy seems too angry to cooperate with them. After finding out the bear, whom they call now Mobie, has a knack for painting, the heroes find out through more paintings that he misses his family. After running away and almost being captured by SWATbots, Sonic rescues him but nearly gets killed by Muttski. Mobie and Muttski fight and Sonic has to use a crude drawing to ensure Mobie doesn't kill his old pal. With the help of Uncle Chuck, the heroes manage to restore Muttski's free will and relocate Mobie to the jungle, where he will be more at home.

Prisoners!

Continuing from Lost... and Found!, the Chaotix meet Archimedes, who seems to have better intentions than they imagined...

Tunda Road (Part 2)

Rotor is rescued by Sealia and Augustus, from the Arctic Freedom Fighters, who were trying to settle back into their normal lives. After an argument, Rotor manages to enlist them into helping him and, together, they fight off Robotnik's Icebots and trap the Walrus Herd into an ice floe. Rotor returns home, but not before tasking his friends with putting a tracker on the Herd so they can locate and help them in the future.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 33

Let's Get Small!

After falling for a new trap by Robotnik disguised as fast food, the Freedom Fighters fall deathly ill due to a robotic virus. In order to save them, Sonic is forced to get shrinked into microscopic size and go inside Rotor's body to fight off the robots. After inspiring the Auntie Bodies inside, they join forces with Sonic and help defeat the new threat.

The Big Picture!

Continuing from Prisoners!, a new mysterious figure watches over Knuckles' quest to find the Chaotix, noticing he's going somewhere interesting: Mount Fate.

Sonic Shot

Snively and a team of joins Sonic and the Freedom Fighters' game of hockey because he wanted to play for a long time. Even after the game turns serious due to Robotnik's interference, Snively at least has enjoyed himself. There's also a small promo for Super Sonic vs Hyper Knuckles, a one-shot that would take place between this issue and the 34th.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 34

To 'Bot or Not to 'Bot!

While trying to stop Robotnik's new army of bots named the Combots, Uncle Chuck and Muttski are taken once again under Robotnik's control and they kidnap Sonic. With the new army trying to invade Knothole, everything seems lost... until it is revealed Chuck and Muttski were actually just pretending to be under Robotnik's command and made a plan with Sonic to fool the evil scientist and reprogram his Combots into walking off a cliff.

A Sense of History (Part 1)

Continuing from the events of the side-story in Super Sonic vs Hyper Knuckles, Knuckles reminisces about the history of the Echidnas and how the floating island came to be. After they found out a white comet was going to crash and destroy their city, the civilization of Knuckles' ancestors used the Chaos Emeralds to make the island float in the sky.

    Sonic the Hedgehog # 35

Ring of Truth!

Just as he's seemingly been cornered by Robotnik's minions and weakened, Sonic grabs some rings and, as it turns out, he just grabbed his one billionth ring, which transports him into a new dimension. There, he's visited by the Ancient Walkers, who reveal to him that the rings and the Chaos Emeralds are connected somehow and present him with some trials. Sonic manages to pass them and, in turn, while he loses a chance at getting a question answered, he also gets a shield that protects him from Robotnik's attack. Sonic takes the billionth ring back home to mount on his wall as a memento.

A Sense of History (Part 2)

Knuckles keeps remembering the history of Echidnapolis. He remembers how an ambitious scientist named Dimitri tried to use a machine called the Chaos Syphon to drain the power of the emeralds and help the floating island descend slowly into the ground. However, the machine backfires and, while it is revealed a single emerald was enough to keep the island afloat, Dimitri's old friend, Edmund, finds out horrified that Dimitri has absorbed the power of the other eleven emeralds and transformed into a super-powered entity known as Enerjak, who summons Mount Fate to demonstrate his power.
