Go To

Otis agrees to go along with Maeve's scheme to be a secretive school sex therapist for their fellow students. However, he's inexperienced as a therapist and just a scared teenager himself and isn't wholly confident in his own ability to advise his peers, and initially it doesn't go well at all. However, Maeve see's a chance to get some clients for their therapy business and invites Otis and Eric to Aimee's big house party in order to win over some of their classmates. Many forced attempts go badly, but Otis does eventually wind up advising and helping a couple he runs into in the bathroom overcome some of their communication and intimacy issues. Eric attempts to help teach a girl how to perform fellatio on a banana, but her gag reflex causes her to vomit and the party quickly dissolves into chaos. Maeve is disheartened by the evening and tells Otis the plan is off and goes home.

However, at school the following monday Otis finds the couple he counseled during the party is very grateful and many other students are suddenly eager to tell him all about their sex problems.

tropes:

  • My Beloved Smother: Otis's mother follows him to the party and goes through the things in his room while he's away. Adam asks her for advice before climbing the fence, but mentions offhandedly that she is coming off as controlling. She's about to leave after taking that to heart but finds that Adam has blocked her in with his car.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Maeve vomits in her sink while getting ready for the party. her landlady's comments and the fact that she buys a pregnancy test immediately afterwards hints that it may be due to Morning Sickness.
    • and again when Eric attempts to teach some girls at the party how to "suck a dick" (with banana props) one girl winds up vomiting due to her gag reflex right on his face, which leads to Eric and many other partygoers also vomitting.
  • Wild Teen Party: Aimee's house party that Eric is thrilled to actually be invited to.
    • Adam's not invited since Aimee broke up with him during the previous episode, he spends the latter half of the episode attempting to break into the house.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Otis is not a licensed therapist, had no proper training, he's 16, and his clients are scared teenagers themselves leading to a breakdown in communication for his first attempt at giving advice.
