• Comically Missing the Point: Ivan repeatedly fails to understand that Johnny wants him to walk away for a minute, even as Bob fails to understand that Johnny doesn't actually want to start a bagel shop.
• Metaphorgotten: When Roland points out Johnny hasn't applied for a business license, Bob chuckles and says "Oh, to be a fly on the wall for this conversation!"... "Bob, you're in the room."
• Mood Whiplash: Moira "tells Alexis a story", a heartwarming tale about how she expected a son and fell deeply in love with her daughter. Then Alexis falls asleep on Moira's arm and Moira pokes her awake to get her away.
