Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:
- Call-Back: Mikey realizes that Kraang Subprime was not Irma the entire time when he knocks his Irma-head off with no blood, a reference to him first meeting her by giving her a bloody-nose by accident.
- For Want Of A Nail: While in "The Invasion, Part 1" April brought Irma to the Lair, leading the Kraang right to them, here they followed the Kraang to rescue her, making it a trap.
- Guilt Complex: Much like her father, Miwa is devastated by Tang Shen's mutation. Unlike Yoshi however, she goes out of her way to avoid her, believing that it only happened because she saved her from the mutagen.
- My Greatest Failure: Yoshi was hit by Tang Shen's mutation the hardest, having cancelled all of his classes until further notice.
- Mythology Gag: At the technology convention, Donatello bumps into a rude Know-Nothing Know-It-All called Lillja, named after a character from the IDW comics that Donatello held a rivalry with. Even their brief exchange paraphrases an argument in the comics that they had.Lillja: Kids these days, so obtruse.

- Spotting the Thread: Mikey realized that Kraang Subprime kidnapped the real Irma when his Irma-suit doesn't bleed like his first encounter with her.
- Weirdness Magnet: April takes Donnie on a date to a Science Expose just to get him out of the house away from his retromutagen work, only for the Kraang to crash the place to abduct the scientists there to use them as slave labor.
