Bait-and-Switch: When the Magistrate discovers Sagwa was the one who changed the No-Singing rule, he calls Mama and Baba Miao in a stern voice and seems to be bent on punishing them all. But instead, he softens and declares all the strict rules taken back.
Because You Were Nice to Me: The Magistrate was previously angry that somebody changed the no-singing rule to "There will be singing". But outside, he hears his subjects praise him as their "best friend". This deeply moves the Magistrate to tears for the first time in years, as nobody has ever said anything so kind to him. As such, when Sagwa is ousted for changing the rule, he does a good turn by not only taking back every strict rule he ever made, he lauds Sagwa as a hero.
