In this special, non-holiday, half-hour special, the park is volunteered by Mr. Maellard for an experiment that'll seal it in a dome. Benson initially is told that the sealing will be the next day but on the day he tells the employees this, the dome arrived right then and there and traps the group inside with no way out till a month's time. While the others band together to adapt and survive the month long imprisonment. Benson, insistent that there was no way he could've gotten the dates wrong, sets off to find out what's going on.
Examples:
- Comically Missing the Point: Benson is so uptight on proving he wasn't wrong that he ignores what's actually the real reason for the dome covering the park.
- Foreshadowing: This won't be the last we see of the dome around the park and the plans for it.
- It Amused Me: It turns out Mr. Maellard put the park in a dome just because he was bored. Though we later on find out the real reason behind the dome…
- Paper-Thin Disguise: The scientists try to pass themselves off as the park crew to Benson, but he see through their disguise easily. At one point they even trying to use Audrey, the girl Benson broke up with, to try and convince him that everything's normal.
- Pungeon Master: Benson uses a lot of dome puns when trying to present the news, but the others don't get it. Later, Professor Dome, the scientist in charge of the dome, also uses a lot of dome puns.
- Shout-Out: Arguably to the movie, Bio-Dome only with less partying elements and more mystery.
- Skewed Priorities: Benson's main drive is to confirm that he didn't get the dates wrong despite the others telling him they don't care. Even when he invades the control room and finds out that the scientists intend to send the park out into space, he's still more concerned about the dates, only snapping out of it briefly when he gets caught.
- Something Only They Would Say: When Benson is caught and drugged a second time, the scientists try to pass themselves off as the park crew to try and see if Benson knows too much about their plans. Benson finds that they're acting too strange and, being the neat freak he is, finds the main room of the house to be off, eventually figuring out everyone's a fake before making a run for it. Later, Mordecai and Rigby run into "Benson" but find he's way too reasonable to be the real one and sure enough it's a scientist using a Benson puppet to try and fool them. When the real on shows up and start talking rashly, they recognize it's the real one.
- Took a Level in Badass: Once Benson finds out that they're being studied by scientists, he trains himself so that he can free the others.
- Tranquillizer Dart: The scientists use them to subdue Benson and the others, using an electronic shooter that can be switched to deliver the antidote.
