Wash begins to enact a plan to bring down Project Freelancer while the Meta rampages through Command. The only question, however, is if Church will participate.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Bittersweet Ending: The Reds and Blues escape with Epsilon and are given new bases for their "war" and Project Freelancer is shut down. However, Wash and the Meta's fates are left ambiguous, Caboose kept Epsilon for unknown reasons, and Church is dead, along with the Metas' AI fragments.
- Killed Off for Real: Though he technically is revived via Epsilon next season, the current incarnation of Church (Alpha-Church) is unambiguously killed in the EMP blast, alongside O'Malley/Omega, Delta, Gamma, and the other fragments.
- Wham Line: "Sincerely yours, the former director of Project Freelancer, Dr. Leonard Church."
