Great Destroyers

The Freelancers face off against the Mercs at the Temple of the Purge, while Reds, Blues and armies of Chorus wage war to reach the Temple of Communication.

Tropes

  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: It is revealed that due to a majority of Space Pirates being killed in Armonia's destruction, and most of the remaining forces being sent to guard the Communication Temple, there were hardly any left to defend their main base at Crash Site Alpha. This easily allowed the Lieutenants and Dr. Grey to storm the place, kill the few remaining pirates there, and activate the tractor beam to pull the Tartarus into the Temple of the Purge.
Espislon: See, we may have lost our home base... but you left yours wide open.
  • Call-Back:
    • Caboose is back in the seat of a tank for the first time since Season 1.
    • Felix once again complains about Wash's use of "cryptic one-liners" like he did in "Ready... Aim".
  • Deliberate Injury Gambit: While fighting an invisible Locus, Wash cuts his hand and flings his blood through the air to splatter him and render him visible.
  • Kansas City Shuffle: As it turns out, the Freelancers' job wasn't to stop the Mercs. It was to keep them occupied while the Lieutenants and Dr. Grey took control of the tractor beam at Crash Site Alpha and throw the Tartarus onto the Temple of the Purge.
  • Meaningful Echo: Felix repeats the same line he previously said to Tucker in "Lost But Not Forgotten" to Wash, "That's war, [X]. Not everyone makes it back." While previously Felix said it as an explanation that they had to abandon Wash, Sarge, Donut, and Lopez, to show sacrifices had to be made, here he says it casually to emphasize his true psychopathic nature and willingness to throw away anyone's lives to complete his goal.

Spotting Locus

Wash goes up against a cloaked Locus. He cuts his own hand and flings his blood through the air, splattering Locus and rendering him visible.
