Tropes

  • Bilingual Backfire: Lopez runs into this when it turns out Locus can speak Spanish.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Doyle admits that the only reason he's in charge is that all the other leaders died and he was next in line, as a secretary no less.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: When Lopez is reactivated, we get a brief glimpse of his HUD via a P.O.V. Cam.
    • A brief flash of the infamous "Bluescreen of Death" is shown, listing three steps to fix a persistent error: "Quit being an Idiot", "Stop damaging hardware", and "Perform proper repair".
    • Lopez is shown to have categorized Donut and Sarge as "Idiot" and "Loud Idiot" respectively while labeling Wash as "Agent Washington".
    • Lopez is shown to have a hardware model of v2.0 while his firmware is only v1.01, which references how he took Dos.0's body but kept his original personality.
    • Lopez's boot screen shows the message "English.exe failed to initiate".
  • Good All Along: As it turns out, instead of an evil empire, the Federal Army is run by a Lovable Coward, assisted by a Mad Doctor, and the thing with Locus is simply the mercenary being out of Doyle's control.
  • Oh, Crap!: Lopez when he realizes that Locus is Bilingual and can understand him. He's just lucky Locus was patient and in no mood to kill him.
  • Tranquil Fury: When Locus enters the room, Wash and Sarge are indignant and very serious when talking to him. Sarge even calls him out on the blatant nerve Locus has for daring to come to speak with them after what he did last season. Dr. Grey also tells Locus to leave Wash's group alone in an uncharacteristically serious tone.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: This episode shows the perspective of the Reds and Blues that were captured by the Feds after the battle at Crash Site Bravo.
