TJ doesn't like Valentine's Day, so he decides to send joke valentines to his classmates. This doesn't go as he expects.
Tropes:
- Cardiovascular Love: Lampshaded by TJ, who puts a scientifically accurate heart on his bag because he doesn't want any valentines anyway.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Every single girl who received a valentine from TJ!
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: The Ashleys decide to punish TJ by giving him a makeover. And the other girls agree with him, even Spinelli and Gretchen.
- Drowning My Sorrows: At Kelso's, TJ orders a strawberry shake with extra syrup after seeing his friends go nuts over the Valentine's Day cards, which makes the owner, Kelso, realize that something's bothering TJ.
- Everything's Better with Sparkles: Gretchen uses glitter to decorate her valentine bag.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Even the Ashleys and Kurst the Worst find TJ endearing upon receiving his valentines.
- Laser-Guided Karma: After TJ reveals that the valentines he gave to the girls were joke valentines (making the girls realize that he didn't mean any of the stuff he wrote to them), they take offense and decide to put make-up all over his face anyway. The short ends with the girls chasing after him.
- Not So Above It All: At first, Spinelli agrees with TJ's opinion that Valentine's Day is a cheesy holiday, but even she changes her mind when Gus points out that there are wrestling-themed valentines. She also joins in the angry mob of girls against TJ, along with Gretchen.
- Oh, Crap!: TJ upon finding out that the girls took his joke valentines as real.
- Pictorial Letter Substitution: TJ makes Valentine cards for all the girls in his grade. For tough tomboy Spinelli, he dots the "i"s with skulls.
- Plausible Deniability: How Vince survives the girls. At no point did Vince condone joke valentines, in fact he wasn't even in on the plan in the first place. So when both Vince's suggestions to help TJ out blows up in TJ's face Vince just declares to the girls he has no knowledge of the letters whatsoever. This way he manages to stay an unaligned participant throughout the entire episode. At worst the girls treat Vince as TJ's diplomat.
- Tempting Fate: Gus in the boys' restroom:Gus: You gotta get outta here before the girls trap us in here. (sees that the girls have trapped them inside) Too late.

- Valentine's Day Vitriol: TJ doesn't really care for Valentine's Day because he thinks it's Sickeningly Sweet. In fact, the first thing he does in this episode is create a Valentine bag with an anatomically accurate heart to deter people from giving him any valentines at all.
- When I Was Your Age...: After TJ explains what's bothering him, Kelso reveals that when he was TJ's age, he and his schoolmates had to make Valentine's-Day cards by hand since store-bought cards weren't really a thing yet.
