- A Day in the Limelight: At least half the episode is dedicated to flashbacks involving Mark's stay in Iceland, him discovering his powers, contacting Charlotte, and eventually his death at the hands of the Crooked Man.

- Birthday Party Goes Wrong: For Dion, his birthday goes south in just about every way. First the cool kids Dion hoped to invite all fail to show up, leaving him with only Esperanza as a guest (whom he still considers annoying). Then he finds out Andre and his other old friends outgrew the game Reptile Repo, which Dion himself still loves and even had his birthday cake modelled after. Then he is mocked for said birthday cake, and he storms off in frustration. The final nail in the coffin is when, in his anger, Dion suffers an asthma attack, and when he telepathically summons his inhaler, it perforates the bouncy castle Andre's mother rented for the party, causing it to deflate. There is some silver lining at the end of the episode, when Dion finally warms up to Esperanza and they eat his birthday cake together.
