In a flashback, Lancelot remembered being summoned in the Fourth Holy Grail War as Berserker. He fought his former king and lost. As he died, all he wanted to say was to not look at him with pity. Sometime later, Gudako summoned him in Chaldea with Arturia Lily and Ivan the Terrible at her side. Recognizing Arturia Lily as a younger version of his king, he angrily screamed, "Arthur!" and lunged at her, but Ivan pounded him into the ground and incapacitated him with a lightning attack. Gudako told him she hopes they can all get along.

The next morning, Hassan wakes the others up and tells them about his adventure. EMIYA Alter says he should have just killed Blake, but Hassan points out killing a fellow student would be unwise. He then points out they should be careful because some people like Blake may have Semblances that can counter their Noble Phantasms. He holds up his scroll and reveals it can read their Aura levels, except for Angra Mainyu's. Angra Mainyu points out he is similar to a Grimm, which don't have Auras. Hassan points out they can't go into spirit form and they have to eat and sleep, which Servants don't normally have to do. He concludes they have been turned into humans and are vulnerable to being hurt or killed by non magical attacks. EMIYA Alter gets really angry when Angra Mainyu admits that he had to use the native's bodies as templates to repair them while they were in his Reality Marble. Angra Mainyu then admits that there were other Servants who jumped into the Black Mud to try to save Gudako, but he wasn't able to save them with his Reality Marble, so they are probably dead or corrupted, but they could have arrived in this world too. EMIYA Alter attacks him. As Hassan stares at them in disbelief, Lancelot decides to leave to get some air.

Lancelot gets bored walking around campus, so he rides on a Bullhead to Vale. He puts his helmet on and people stop and stare at the fully armored knight. He sees some lovely ladies and feels an urge to flirt with them, but it is dampened by his regret of his affair with Guinevere and his betrayal of his king. He remembers his interview with Glynda. He got uncomfortable because she resembles the Lion King version of Arturia from the Camelot Singularity. She asked what was wrong, and he said she reminds him of a friend he lost. She said she understood and that she always worries that she will lose students to the Grimm or other dangers. He then said she was beautiful, and she quickly lost her train of thought.

The people part like the Red Sea, avoiding Lancelot. He looks up and finds that he was really lost in thought; it's almost sundown. Finally noticing that his armor completely stands out, he finds a clothing store. The clerk is terrified by his appearance, but he eventually buys a black business suit and purple tie. He puts it on after making his armor disappear, and the clerk is immediately smitten with him, not even questioning what happened to his armor. When he walks out, the ladies soon become interested due to being able to see his handsome face, which cheers him up.

He enters a nightclub. He sees people dancing to a strobe light and a reverberating style of music that he finds odd. He goes to the bar and asks for ale, but a huge bearded man says he's too young. Annoyed, Lancelot says he's old enough to hunt, and he's had a horrible week so he doesn't care. The bartender gives him some ale. Trying not to remember his mistakes from his previous life, he reaches for it.

Before he can drink it, a girl sits next to him and orders a strawberry sunrise. She has really long blonde hair that looks like fire, lilac eyes, a tan jacket, and a top that shows off her midriff and cleavage. Lancelot quickly looks at her face. The bearded man complains about another kid showing up. The girl flirts with Lancelot and he flirts back before apologizing and talking overly polite. The girl says he talks strange and introduces herself as Yang Xiao Long. He introduces himself as Lancelot Du Loc. She jokes that he must use a spear because he Lance-A-Lot, which makes him groan that was lame. As she sips her drink, she asks what's his story, pointing out he's roughly her age, but looks like a fighter and looks depressed. He says he came here to forget after he received some bad news. She asks if he wants to talk about it, and he asks the bartender for a bottle, saying he might need it.

Lancelot drinks five glasses and it's not doing anything to him. He talks about how he made many mistakes that got people hurt, so he's not sure if he deserves to go to Beacon Academy. She talks about how she's been searching for her missing mother, and one time, she almost got her little sister killed. She wants to travel and seek thrills, and has trouble controlling her temper. He admits he is feeling better. Yang gets up to talk to the bearded man, called Junior. The bartender is amazed when he says he doesn't even feel buzzed.

He looks up to find that Yang had punched out Junior for some reason. The club's guards, all wearing suits and red sunglasses and carrying swords, attack her. Lancelot starts to get up, but stops when he sees she can handle it. Her gauntlets double as shotguns, and she starts kicking their asses. He suddenly realizes her looks and ferocious fighting style reminds him of Mordred. The bartender runs away, so he pours himself some wine. He drinks a cup, pours himself another, but one of the guards crashes into him, breaking the bottle. The guard tries to shove him away, and he snaps.

After taking out the guards, Yang fights a girl in red named Miltia who wields claws on her hands and her twin in white named Melanie who wields bladed heels. She finds it fun that they are tougher than these generic guards. Suddenly, Lancelot throws the guard who crashed into him into Melanie, knocking her across the room. He walks up holding a stool. He says alcohol isn't working off his stress, but violence works better. Before their eyes, the stool turns black with red veins, and his eyes turn red, reminding Yang of how her own eyes turn red when she gets angry. Miltia attacks him, but he blocks with the stool and everyone is shocked when her claws fail to cut through it. Lancelot explains that his Semblance, Knight of Owner: A Knight Does Not Die Empty Handed, lets him turn anything he holds into a real weapon. Yang complains that name is too long. Melanie gets up and says that name is ridiculous. Angered, Lancelot throws the stool at her. She ducks and is shocked when the impact makes a hole in the wall, but he attacks her with a leg he ripped off the stool. Miltia tries to help her, but Yang attacks her.

Lancelot is having fun. Melanie dodges one of his strikes and he realizes Hassan was right, he's human and weaker. He gets distracted by Yang finishing off Miltia. Melanie tries to kick him, but he catches her ankle and scares her when her blade turns black with red veins. He swings her around and hurls her through a glass pillar, knocking her out. Yang says they were awesome together and offers a hi five. He remembers what that is and returns it. She says she's looking forward to working with him in Beacon, but Junior walks up and attacks them with a rocket launcher. They scatter and Lancelot decides he wants it.

Yang shoots the rockets to detonate them prematurely and asks how Junior has so much ammo. Suddenly, Lancelot rips the entire bar counter out of the floor and throws it into Junior, knocking him out. Yang's jaw drops as the counter breaks into pieces and buries Junior in rubble. Lancelot claims the rocket launcher and hangs it from his shoulder with a strap. Yang decides she didn't get any info on her mother but she had fun.

Yang offers him a ride on her motorcycle Bumblebee, but he declines. She bids him farewell and drives away. Lancelot starts to leave, but meets a 15 year old girl with red and black hair and silver eyes, wearing a black gothic dress and a red cape and hood. She asks where her sister Yang went. He points at the direction, and she thanks him and runs off at super speed. Lancelot walks away and decides his day wasn't so bad. Knight of Owner tells him his new rocket launcher can turn into a club. He made a friend and decides that no matter what happens, he'll move forward because that's what a knight would do.
