Tropes

  • Adapted Out: The Gokaigers' very first Gokai Change, into ''Himitsu Sentai Gorenger - the first-ever Sentai, is omitted and the Super Mega Rangers instead go straight to the Samurai Rangers rather than say, Mighty Morphin. Ultimately, the Gorangers never got included among the "New Powers".
    • From Gokaiger's second episode, that whole plot with the boy who steals the Samurai Red Ranger Key to fight the Armada by himself is omitted.
    • In the all red Legendary Mode morph, the footage of Gosei/Megaforce Red is replaced with Bouken/Overdrive Red since those are Troy's base powers and would seem out of place. The suit was green-screened rather impressively into the stock footage, even recreating the movements of the original suit actor fromGokaiger pretty well.
  • Behemoth Battle: Legendary Megazord vs. Tentacus.
  • Compressed Adaptation: This episode adapts the first two episodes of Gokaiger. Notably this results in Troy morphing into Samurai Red twice, first as part of the Legendary Samurai Mode and second as part of the Legendary Red Ranger Mode.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: Befalls both Headridge and Tentacus.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Both the villains and Rangers note that the lasers used to grow the monsters are not only better than the Zombats, but that they can also grow more than one monster in the same minute.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Done by Levira to Tentacus.
  • Monster of the Week: Due to adapting two episodes of Gokaiger at once, this episode has two: Headridge and Tentacus.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Since this season is using the Gokaiger footage now, Gosei introduces the Super Mega Modes along with the Legendary Ranger forms to the rangers.
  • The Unreveal: We never find out why Jake's Ranger Key is green instead of black, and Gosei's "There's a simple explanation for that" never goes anywhere.
