Postman Pat and the Green Rabbit is the twelfth episode of Series 3 of Postman Pat.

Pat agrees to babysit Nikhil Bains while his family is out, which proves to be a bit more difficult than he thought.

Tropes:

  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Pat briefly refers to Nikhil as Nik, and Alf Thompson calls him Ikhil-wikhil.
    • Dorothy Thompson gets nicknamed Auntie Dolly.
  • Babysitting Episode: Because the Bains' original babysitter couldn't make it, Pat watches Nikhil for the day.
  • Baby Talk: Alf Thompson talks in a very babyish way to Nikhil.
  • The Cameo: In the front row at the cinema, Miss Hubbard, Sam Waldron, and Peter Fogg, all of whom were previously retired, can be spotted.
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: Pat tears the seat of his trousers on the fence while trying to climb over it, leaving his underwear on display.
  • Covered in Mud: While visiting Thompson Ground, Nikhil gets covered in mud while playing in the garden.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Nikhil Bains gets special focus in this episode, as he accompanies Pat on his rounds.
  • Lost Toy Grievance: Nikhil cries whenever his beloved green rabbit goes missing.
  • Luminescent Blush: Pat goes red in the face over his trousers getting torn.
  • Straying Baby: While at the church, Nikhil escapes from Pat, leaving the postman to chase after him.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: When Pat climbs the fence of the sheep pen, he tears the seat of his trousers on the gate.
