Chell enters the Central AI Chamber to finally confront GLaDOS directly, only for a piece of her to fall off. She promptly destroys it in a nearby furnace, only for GLaDOS to reveal it was actually a “morality core” that was keeping her from outright murder, after she went rogue and killed the entire Aperture staff with neurotoxin. As such, the chamber begins to flood with neurotoxin, giving Chell only a matter of minutes to take down GLaDOS before she suffocates.
To do this, Chell redirects rockets from a nearby rocket turret into GLaDOS, causing more of her personality cores to fall off. As soon as all these cores are destroyed in the incinerator, GLaDOS suffers a fatal malfunction, the AI Chamber collapses, and Chell finds herself sucked out of the room and into the Aperture facility's parking lot. Before she can get up, however, an unseen robot thanks her for "assuming the party escort submission position", then starts to drag her back into the facility.
