Continuity Nod: It took this long for the heroes to find out Kingdra (as a dragon-type) would not take super effective hits from electric attacks, even though they have faced one a couple of times before. Then again, in those two occasions they never did get the chance to test if Kingdra actually had that weakness.
Early-Bird Cameo: Wynaut first shows up, stealing Team Rocket's food from under their noses. It would continue to make sporadic appearances throughout the Blackthorn City arc.
Psychic Powers: Noctowl uses Confusion to pull Kingdra out of the water...but it's attempt to hurl Kingdra at the wall gets thwarted when Clair has Kingdra use Hydro Pump to stop it's flight.
