Flash is offered the chance to compete in a special tournament by a Baron, and he agrees so he can get Astro some more training. But he doesn't learn until after agreeing that the prize for winning the tournament is an engagement to the Baron's daughter, Lady Purity Babbelon. Meanwhile, Cadance tries to give some love advice to Tender Care, who has a crush on Purity himself.
- Big "WHAT?!":Twilight gives one when the group learns that the prize is an engagment to Purity. Flash gives one himself once it hits him what that means.
- Engagement Challenge: Baron Von Babbelon's whole tournament is to find someone to get engaged to his daughter once they are of legal age. Flash initially only agrees to enter to get more training for Astro, and isn't interested in getting engaged once he actually learns what the "prize" is and almost leaves before deciding to try to help Tender win and get with Purity instead. Ultimately, the whole tournament is rendered moot when Tender forfits to Flash in the finals, but Flash politely declines the promised engagment, and Purity tells her father she wishes to be with Tender instead.
- Has a Type: Flash polietly turns down his engagment to Purity upon being declared the winner of the tournament, saying he doesn't think she is his type. Funny enough though, when Spike asks him what his type is Flash doesn't know himself and assumes he'll find out when he meets her, to Springer's annoyance.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Tender's "Masked Trainer" disguise is just him in a zorro mask and black cape. Pretty much everyone knows it is him right away, except for Baron Von Babbelon, who acts like he was tricked into letting him compete.
- Throwing the Fight: Flash tries to do this with Tender in the finals, since he is not interested in getting engaged to Purity and wants to help Tender get with her. Unfortunately, Tender ends up taking things way too far and has Venomega brutally attack Astro. When Tender realizes what he is doing though he forfits.
- Shipper on Deck:
- Cadance continues to be one for Flash and Twilight, giggeling slightly at Twilight's reaction when Flash almost gets engaged.
- The ending scene basically confirms that Springer is one for Flash and Twilight. When Flash admits he's not sure what type of girl he likes and assumes he will know when he meets her, Springer gives a facepalm and moans "oh brother" in his own language.
